if you use chopper to discard renegade refit do you still keep the -2 pts

I don't believe there has been any clarification yet regarding the point cost of ships changing during the game, but I have always ruled that a ship's point value is fixed at the start of the game and any margin of victory calculations are based on the initial point value.

Discarde upgrade are still part of the build and "equiped" to the ship...

Are Missile, Bomb or Torpedo point still counted, yes, then it is the same thing for any discarded upgrade...

If your opponent discards one of your upgrade cards (via Boba Fett), the point value of the ship doesn't change. If you lose an upgrade card involuntarily via damage card effect, the point value of your ship doesn't change. If you lose an upgrade card to its own effect (ordnance, crack shot, etc), the point value of your ship doesn't change. Why would voluntary loss of an upgrade card via another of your cards be different? This isn't even the first card that can do it; that was probably Moff Jerjerrod.

No there has been since Boba fett crew came out. Discard3d upgrades are out of play for all purposes except determining squad point value.

@wsmith32 If you're asking whether your 100 point list becomes illegal when you discard a -2 point upgrade, the answer is no.

The squad point value of all ships are fixed once the game starts. For reference, see page 20 & 21 of the Blue Core Rules Reference book found here (under the Support section toward the bottom of the page)

Exactly so. Renegade Refit has basically no effect during a game, only in squad building. So feel free to chopper it at the first opportunity.

But, since the Refit allows equipping an extra modification, do you lose one of those as well?

We have ample precedent* that losing a card that grants you a slot doesn't cause you to lose a card you equipped in that slot, so no.
