Among several design prototypes I have lined up, I finished my Star Wars Legion unit base indicator mod. It allows you to add magnetic, swap-able, colored discs to your trooper units so you can differentiate between like units without using tokens in the play area. You can check them out at https://www.etsy.com/listing/596532394/star-wars-legion-unit-indicator-base?ref=listings_manager_grid.
Star Wars Legion unit indicator base mod
Cool idea!
Looks like they are off centre in some cases though, changing the shape/size of the base?
Edited by ThorasThat's a clever idea. But don't you get enough models in every box to field a full unit? Why do you need to swap them?
Eventually, you probably have several units of multiple types. Maybe 3 stormtrooper and 3 snowtrooper and later 3 of something else, so swapping becomes necessary as more units become available. The diameter variance is less than .25mm.

I think it’s to differentiate the different squads.
If you have multiple squads of the same unit, you could paint different colors on the bases. Or paint the models themselves differently, of course.

I agree. I don't like anything that raises the base height personally. That's just me, I suppose.
A painting template would be better
I love the look. but this feels a bit over designed.
overall I'm not sure unit separation is as critical as people think it is.
