So we played last night and it was awesome! I have a bunch of pictures that I'll try to get up on here so I can do a decent AAR.

I'm totally hooked but we ran into some rule questions:

~ If I've damaged the Fore section, can I start attacking the Aft section of a Huge ship, even if the line from the center of my ship crosses the blue line toward the Aft section?

~ If I run into Astroids, do I take a hit or does damage still go toward my shields for that section?

~ Where has Epic play been all my life?!

1. After looking through the huge rules and faq, I have no idea. The best I can come up with is that once a section is crippled, it cannot be targeted. Meanwhile, an attack that goes through a huge ship section causes the attack to be obstructed. I would probably discuss it with a TO or my opponent before beginning play but I would rule it that once a section is disabled, you may target the other section even if the line passes through the center line, but the attack is obstructed. seems like the best compromise.

2. You have to look at the wording... When a ship "suffers" damage it applies the same way an attack does, taking off shields first and then dealing damage cards once shields are gone. When a ship is "dealt" a damage, that means you are dealt a card. Shields cannot stop it. It is possible for a ship with all its shields to be "dealt" enough damage cards to destroy it. In this case, overlapping an obstacle "deals" one face up damage card.

3. Epic, will always be with you.

No - you need a line of sight that does not go through the central blue line. Line of sight is measured from the ship post attacking to the ship post if the defending section. (Page 2 of the Epic rules)

As @pickirk01 says the huge ship is dealt a face up damage card so you get it even if fully shielded (if it said suffer one damage that would go on shields first - but this is deal a damage card and it’s face up ? )
