Alliance Rangers

Are Alliance Rangers worth including in lists as I see many conflicting reports

Played correctly, Rangers can be one of the deadliest groups in the game. But they do require careful positioning. They can be squishy and will be focused down if left in a vulnerable position.

I'm a devout imperial player in all star wars games that I play, except for Imperial Assault. Too many great figures in all factions to play only one. :)

In saying that, I've just recently decided that e-Rangers are an auto-include in my rebel lists.

Long range , they're easily the best unit. You can focus 2 up with Threepio and Gideon so that they can shoot from long range while the third guy opens a door or goes for an objective. The auto pierce 1 and the re-rolls are amazingly good. Also they can use the hunter command cards and some of the trooper cards.

Close range, they can be used to hold objectives if needed, but can also still do some good damage with the hunter command cards.

their attack gets significantly worse at close range without the re-rolls, but the 7 health is still a respectable amount to chew through. For anyone, except Vader, that is

Wait, there are conflicting reports on the Alliance Rangers?

We're talking about the 7-health, Trooper and Hunter (two of the strongest traits in the game), auto-pierce, auto-accuracy, long range, double reroll, action-free Hidden, and three figures per activation-Alliance Rangers, yes? ;)

Who would want to use them when we have scoundrel Han with more than half their Hp and damage for the same cost? :D

There is no conflict.

To the OP's defense, he is new to the boards and several people have mentioned the Ramgers as "losers" on the Uscru map
