Store Championships Dates/Locations

By dominosfleet, in Star Wars: Armada

Alright, I'm going to start posting/updating this to include dates for the locations to have one central area for people to look up tournaments. If you know/find out the time/date that a store will be doing their store championships let me know and I'll update the first page with it.

Thanks in advanced.

FFGOP tweeted that the kits ought to be shipping now. List coming soon™, presumably.

Game Cafe(KC, MO) posted about 20 mins ago that the event they scheduled for the 27th might be pushed back because they're not getting a response from FFG on kits that FFG said would originally be delivered by that date haven't been shipped yet. Something weird is going on.

I plan on attending. Hope it doesn't get pushed back. Think I heard the Geekery may also host one. So there might be two in my area! woot

I saw that Geekery was hosting a tournament on june 17th (that's fathers day right? weird day to choose) but I think it's just a regular tournament they do, not actually a store champ.

I usually come out to your guys larger tournaments (store champs/regionals) from STL and drag a couple people along, the uncertainty from FFG is semi killing me with this only being a week and a half out.

Yeh their last one was on mother's day haha. Not always the best timing. I think the owner said he was going to host a store championship last time I was there. But don't quote me on that. If not, I can always go to the tournaments, I don't have quite the same drive as you. ;)

Right! :) Our community here is weird, I've got 6ish pretty dedicated players that will go to just about anything if they are able and 12ish that will show up on occasion to different things. I tried for about 6 months to grow the community but didn't find a lot of success which kind of burned me out. /shrug, maybe something big will happen and I'll get reinvigorated.

And this store just announced that it's delaying its store championship till June 24th. They said

" It is with much regret that we will have to push this event back a couple weeks. FFG's original shipping and scheduling information was incorrect. Many apologies."

Not sure if they jumped the gun or if FFG dropped the ball(again) but if i was to guess I'd go with the latter considering FFG's twitter announced the kits were shipping back in late april/early may.

Do you happen to have a link or more info on that? In Aus we haven’t even heard of shops applying for champs yet so I’m trying to work out if it’s the stores who haven’t done it or if Aus is behind?

Not sure if they deleted the tweet or if we're thinking the season 1 kit announcement . All i could find looking over the previous posts was this .

Apparently store champs are listed for NA on the website but I’m waiting to hear when someone actually goes to one since I don’t think we have seen what’s in the kit?

they're selling nationals so hard right now, i wonder if they're pushing store champs back to after those. That would be pretty ****, I really don't want to drive across the midwest in winter weather.

Nationals don’t have set times.

i mean, Canadian Nationals was BEFORE worlds.

if anything that’s one of the reasons the info is out now - they need to tell them what they were fighting for weeks ago

lol was there literally no prize support for the event they played in? That's the best / most funny thing I've heard in a couple days. What a joke.

Basically.

Hardly the first time though.

I only see 2017 store championship locations on FFG's website.

Weve had them for a while in the uk...

FFG Center just announced store champs for June 23rd on Facebook

Searching the facebooks i keep getting their announcments. Lol I'm not navigating the Atlantic to go to a store championship, even my "6 hour drive" limit is well over what I should be willing to do.

99% certain this was FFG dropping the ball. Last year we had the Game Cafe Store Championship right after Worlds, and Geekery was a month or so later. Maybe they're already redoing their Spring/Fall schedules again after just rolling them out last year.

Game Cafe's was the first tournament I'd attended for the game, I was super excited and ended up taking second there then first at Geekery's. It's frustrating to have no idea when events are this year.

Is there a regular group that meets up in the KC area for armada?

I haven’t gotten a game in besides vassal in ages.
