"I thought we gonna stay together forever"
not quite there
should be Reaper --> palp --> lambda
Soooo wait... if the Lamba is dating a U-wing...is it looking at the new U-wing with hearts in it's eyes?

the U-Wing is the rebel equivalent of the lambda, and now she gets buffed before the original space cow... This is a great injustice to the world.
lambda got buffed first (palpatine)
and now the lambda could conceivable get more fixed, whereas the U is basically consigned to always being in the sheathe's or auzzies' shadow
except maybe Saw, but that's a distant maybe

But the U-Wing basic generic is now a whole 3 points cheaper than the Auzzie's generic!
I'd immediately pay 3 points for small base, 180 arc, and reinforce

No, this is a flawed argument.
The Lambda sucks. Palpatine is awesome, but the Lambda sucks. It provides nothing, aside from carrying Palp.
The U-Wing got fixed. not it can do something previously couldn't. Double mods for fewer points.
If you sit in a wheelchair, and you get a ramp to your house, you are still sitting in a wheelchair. And the U-Wing just got bionic legs.
Because, if you were right, and Palpatine was a Lambda fix, the Reaper wouldn't really affect the presence of the Lambda. Otherwise, these ships are pretty different. Different movement, different stats, different base size, different actions... The only thing they share is the double crew slot.
But Palpatine isn't a Lambda fix. It is just a crew upgrade. That can go on 3 (soon 4) different ships, and I've seen him on all three, more on the Deci lately.
bionic legs is REALLY overselling the U-wing fix
it's more like peg legs with a chrome finish. The point drop is nice but hardly enough to justify using it, and dropping extra points on such a bleh chasis also does not constitute a "fix"
they still need a "ramp" to get anywhere, and they don't have it. Be thankful lambdas at least get palp, and have had palp for a while, and might get a fix in the future
EDIT: forgot X-wings got the same fix and are better with it because they have two 0-point mods...and are just better overall

Being the only large ship to do double mods, while having decent stats at a great price is not a bad deal.
21 points, for a system slot, 2 mods, and 2 [rebel] crew? Seems pretty good to me. I'm not gonna feel bad for the rebels for having too many ships with crew slots, so that it is getting difficult to design around them without becoming obsolete.
I think you are really underappreciating the possibilities provided by double mods. Also, calling a ship 3,2,4,4 and better dial bleh, when talking about the 3,1,5,5 with the WORST dial in the game... is peculiar to say the least. especially when they cost the same. And the U-Wing can turn around... Okay it is kinda convoluted, but at least it can.
For YEARS people have been ******* they want a better X-Wing.
Before the drool has even dried in their beards over seeing the fix for said ship, they are whining about the next "oh woe is she" ship.
THAT is the Sad Truth.
Edited by Darth MeanieI don’t think OP quite understands the meme. But that’s ok.

It's not peculiar, it's actually very simple
Most mods suck outside of specific circumstances, the Uwing remains nothing at all special or even really good, and nothing it does will impact the list it's in nearly as much as the Palp shuttle impacts its list
That's all there is to it. The Uwing remains very underwhelming, the shuttle sees use now and could be fixed in the future.
Apart from Saw, of. Saw could be okay

Give Saw and Cassian engine upgrades and pretend their a brobots, problem solved
The Uwing is going to be super Janky but hopefully it sees some solid play

If they also errata the Pivot-wing title to be before you execute instead of after , then we may have something intriguing on our hands. As it currently stands; yes the U-wing chassis is objectively better than a Lambda, but by a small margin. Rebels have a lot of nice 'on-board' style crew, but few that really benefit the squad and therefore warrant a shuttle. That's the Lambda's value. Now the reaper might take that mantle sure, but I imagine some Howard Aces players would argue Yorr's stress mechanics are worth the price of admission. I think there will still be a few loyal Yorr players even after the Reaper is released.
I'm just happy the U-wing finally has some decent support pilots, it might actually see some play as a shuttle rather than a glass battering ram.
