Lets try it with just the FAA and servo motor.

S-Foils in the closed position.

AP-5 coordinates LT ---> LT boosts---> gain stress takes an evade ---> Intensity triggers, takes a second evade ---> LT Activates --->LT Flips the Servo Motor ---> LT moves on a green ---> distresses and has an action left ---> LT barrel rolls from the FAA ---> LT takes a focus.

Not as effective as R3-T1, but still pretty good and it drops him 2 points.

The Servomotor S-Foils can be flipped at the beginning of the Activation phase, not when a ship activates.

Problem is Sfoils trigger at start of activation phase, not when the ship activates. So, coordianting a boost can only happen every other round aka probably not when you will need it.

Dang it! Your right. NM, still the first string works with R3-T1.

Poor guy, he was so close to greatness. If only his pilot ability said Boost or Barrel Roll.

Just wanted to highlight that Cool Hand doesn't remove the stress token, you discard Cool Hand for a focus or an evade token.

That being said, I think as others have stated, Lone Wolf or Wired would be nice choices. Also, having a recon spec / rey equipped Banthic within range 2 would allow a focus + evade X wing,

Not sure what else would go in the list though, maybe Low?

Yea I just don't see him fitting into the traditional rebel archetypes either. He feels like he wants to be an ace but because of that stress restriction he can't have PTL.
