Excitement builds for the coming fantastic T-65 fix/buff!!

By clanofwolves, in X-Wing

So we're all amazed at the new hotness T-65s are going to be. Just thinking, as they hit the meta, and if it doesn't shift to much (assume no FAQ), where do you guys think they'll land --who will they replace-- in the current top ten ships?

1.Sheathipede-class Shuttle

2.Auzituck Gunship

3.Attack Shuttle

4.Scurrg H-6 Bomber

5.K-wing

6.VCX-100

7.TIE/sf Fighter

8.HWK-290

9.T-70 X-wing

10.YT-1300

I see them taking spot 8.

wait... hwks are in the top 10? impossible. I need facts and reference!

eeeeeeeeeh...going with my gut and saying none of those. Standing by my suspicion that lack of 1.) guaranteed defenses 2.) turrets 3.) 'poons will ultimately add up to not very much

I still see something like the Nu Squadron or a LRS Kim as a superior generic option, simply due to higher damage output than the admittedly far more maneuverable rookie

though I am surprised the HWK is #8, and that the Attack Shuttle is somehow higher than the VCX

I do not see the T-65 X-wing in the top spots anytime soon. Maybe for a short time as people just fly them a lot at various tournaments trying things out. They are more maneuverable, and better than where they were, but they are still more or less not broken, which mean non-competitive in this current game's state.

X-Wings will go from bad to average, much like Kihraxz and Starvipers did.

Sort of...

The current list on metawing is being heavily distorted due to one guy running 5 rebel operatives and doing well in the Hannover hyperspace qualifier. If you exclude that one event then scum Hawks are in the high 40s Rebel Hawks aren't even in the top 50

A handful of people tried running VCXs without shuttle, did as terrible as you'd expect, and as a result drag down the average performance. Whereas the shuttle never gets run without the VCX and so it's average is higher.

thanks, Maka

context is always everything when looking at any sort of ranking

...context? Who needs stinking context?!?

Agreed, the only chance they had was if s-foils let you equip autothrusters.
You might see 3-4 X and Saw every once in a while, or 4 and Fenn Rau. Id be surprised if they ever made cut.

I’m just pleased that the T-65 us more competitive now, even if they are not tournament worthy. Every time I build a squad and think about the T-65 I say “I might as well just use a T-70”. I don’t think I’ll be saying that anymore.

I'll believe he flew that list to a second place finish when I see video evidence. Listjuggler is open for anyone to edit isn't it?

It's my understanding that this may be a false entry. Has it been confirmed at all?
