Tell you what, just for you and Jeff I'll Strange Aeons an alt art version and call it "Rogue Squadron Refit". How's that?

Appreciated, but don't do it for me. Honestly, it would annoy me just as much if it'd been Rogue Squadron. (Basically, an X-wing shouldn't have to belong to a particular squadron to be playable. I know it's just fluff, but it's just so indicative of the laziness.)

If it had remained canon that the Rebellion stole the T65s from the Empire (Incom defectors), we could have cut out the middle man and just called it Rebel Refit

Just like every single TIE Advanced is now an 'x1' model. Why? Because: lazy.

At least the TIE Defenders are sometimes /D models or /x7 models.

But yeah, upgrades where you don't practically lose anything and just get a bunch of stuff, so that they are auto-include...have always bugged me. I mean, why would anyone ever under any circumstances run a TIE Advanced without /x1? Same thing here. It's a bit annoying.

People weren't running the TIE Advanced _before_ that title, so I don't see the problem.

Also: the X1 title makes the Advanced more interesting than it would be otherwise. It's a heavy Fighter, with not just a system _slot_, but it needs to take that upgrade to get value. The title makes it a more interesting ship than it would be if it were simply a 17 point fighter with a system slot available.

All TIE Advanced are x1s.

Similarly, all Defenders SHOULD be TIE/x7 (the prototype model) or the TIE/D (the production model). The game just didn't make it matter mechanically until later.

All Tie Advanceds are already x1s; That's just a more complete name, like T-65 X-wing or Tie/ln starfighter. The tie Advanced x2-x7 were experimental prototypes, two of which eventually became the Tie Avenger and the Tie Defender.

EDIT: Ninja'd!

@Jeff Wilder's objection is a bit different. While every Tie Advanced (model) is a Tie Advanced x1, not all x-wings received a Renegade Refit, but virtually all x-wings we will see on the table from this point on will use it, even if they're associated with the main Rebel Alliance.

OK.....want to see something crazy?

Blue Squadron Pathfinder (23)

  • Saw Gererra (1)
  • Magva Yarro (2)
  • Guidance Chip (0)
  • Advanced Proton Torpedo (5)
  • Extra Munitions (2) Only 1 Torp slot

U-wing flies up and gets up in someone's face. Hope he gets into R1, but doesn't bump. Someone shoots at him, giving the TL. His turn, he fires the APT. That's 5 red dice. 3 blanks turn into eyeballs. Take a damage and all eyeballs turn into Crits. Have GC to ensure that the 4th blank or maybe a hit turns into a crit, too. BOOM

How do you have Extra Munitions?

Other than that, that does look terrifying.

My only gripe, I was hoping the Refit would be a title, so you could run integrated, chips and a torpedo, paired with deadeye or targeting astromech that would have been great and made the ship have more options other than S-foils and IA for mods.

S-foils gives R2-D2 more greens when running, with Lone Wolf Luke, you can 2 bank, regen and boost while still getting defensive mods if needed.

Doh! It only has 1 Torp slot. My bad.

Old School Super Dash (Kyle Katarn) may make a comeback with Saw as his wingman.

Heh, I was kind of hoping I was the one that missed something.

If I was in that thing's arc at R1 there's no way I'd shoot it unless I was **** sure it would die.

Well shoot, Aurora (Squad builder) has already updated. Good Job team!

(Although it is still not reducing the Elite points. I can figure out a single point. But man, that was quick whoever got it up there. I am not complaining, just pointing it out.)

Yeah, I didn't even list an action for the ship. I guess you can TL someone, but you can always switch it to someone that shoots at you, instead.

Magva and Finn make great partners in a low PS ship

Well, it does kill the torp slot, so it's now a dedicated dogfighter.

And leave title free for another mechanic.

The fluff is trash. Every single X-wing is a Renegade now.

I had the same reaction. Luke has to join Saw to get a good ship.

Or call it a "Post-Yavin Refit" ("ABY Refit") because after destroying the Death Star the Rebels won't need torps again - The Empire wouldn't be so silly as to build another!

FFG- X-Wing fix!

Psh, there not Rebel X-Wings!

*me in the corner blissfully giving zero **** as I build lists*

So who's going to be the first to run five FAA, refit double mod rookies?

I think that is the squad I am going to fly for the next few months! So excited for those X-wings!

I've got a planet to sell you.

Just some stuff...

There is a card that has not been spoiled that starts “Th... Corr...”.

It’s contents seems to have, “When defending... 3 or fewer...may receive... cancel all of...”.

Is this a title, or another upgrade? Is it for the t65, or U-Wing, or both? So this t65/U-Wing upgrade still has some gifts to keep on giving.

Also is it just me or is the wording for Renegade Refit just odd.

”...The squad point cost of each of your equipped {ept} upgrades is reduced by 1...”

I know it doesn’t, but it almost sounds like the entire squad gets the benefit of the reduced cost.

You/your always refers solely to the ship that the upgrade is equipped on.

Except in the case of Jabba...

... because Jabba is special!

"You/your" always means "this ship".

Still an interesting discovery. Maybe someone will be able to equip two EPTs?

Many times I have see Vader Finish a ship ship that evaded an attack. during those games 3 points was a bargain. A 19 point Vader Bomber is a bigger problem to deal with then a ship that can take a damage to maybe hit you

this is a good card against any thing that is 1 Agi. anything else and he is almost worthless in your list.

both cards are priced right IMO
