Osmium Shorts

By CitizenKeen, in Genesys

Going to try something a little different...

I've had an idea for space fantasy campaign in my head for a while now, but trying to write a handout for that is a... daunting task. So I'm not going to do that.

Instead, I'm going to try to write a "snippet" a week. Maybe more, but at least one short piece a week. Each short will include some crunch because otherwise who cares (I know I don't). Each week, a monster or some cool talents or a magic system or just a singular NPC. Something to flesh out the world

Hopefully this will slowly turn into something cool. Fingers crossed. Feedback welcomed.

Week 1: The Hegemony

Badass bird dudes with a legal system that makes the Devil's Contracts look like handshake deals.

You reference ".6 gravity". I assume you're going to have a Gravity system? If so, I'd advise against having some fractional amount. None, Low, Medium and High are probably more than enough.

Fair enough. I was referring to Earth gravities. I'll try clearing that up. Thanks!

Osmium is kind of brittle. I’m not sure it’s the proper material for making shorts. Or any kind of casualwear, really.

It's in the same family as palladium, which was one of my inspirations. And it kinda sounds like 'awesome'.

It seemed silly to have a 'Compendium' with only one entry, so...

Bonus Entry: The Vrar

Giant bear people. No space opera would be the same without them.

New Entry: Cascadia Province

From Edmonton to Twin Falls, filled with technophagic beasts and slowboats.

New Entry: Environmental Rules for Disease and Gravity, including mycanthropy, when the moon brings out the mushroom in you.

Interesting take on diseases. I may have to see how they play and adapt for my Terrinoth game...

New Entry: Great Lakes Province

What was once New York and Hudson Bay is now... a zombie wasteland ruled by vampires.

If a Mod can move this to Your Settings , that would be awesome, please and thank you.
