6 Player Games

By Sfounder, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Hail!

So my gaming group is made of 6 people. The weekends are for Pathfinder games, but during the week when we have some spare time we try to get in a rousing game of Descent. Normally it's not a problem because during the week there are usually 4 or 5 of us, but what about when there are 6? We want to start a Road to Legend game. Any suggestions on rebalance, or on duties and whatnot? Any input is most appreciated.

Thank you!

If the OL generally dominates the Heroes, there are a few homebrews floating around (I'd check BGG) for playing more than 4 heroes. Each additional hero will likely make the game much easier for them, though, so whoever's OL better know what he's doing. ;)

If the Heroes typically win without too much trouble, maybe the 6th player would like to be an assistant OL (or "Minion" if you prefer.) Let him move some of the monsters, provide suggestions on cards to play, etc. Make sure to have a few "fake suggestion moments" so the heroes don't get too comfortable inferring your hand from any overheard talks. You could also split the OL's hand in two and each have some cards to play at your own discretion. The combined total of both players would still be the same limit on hand size though. OL and Minion each get one card per turn =)

Enduring Evil , my homebrew mod, supports 6 players.

And is a better game alround anyway.

But it is quite a lot of work printing out all the cards... cool.gif
