There a place for Salvation in a Raddus list?

By ImpStarDeuces, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

I've been toying around with Raddus and I think I gone through the activation overload to the MC75 Profundity bomb just like everyone else. I was thinking about trying the Liberty instead for a bit of standoff power which brought me to the question of what to use for the supporting cast. With Cymoons running around, small ships aren't exactly safe and I needed a decent threat to try and get my opponent to turn so I can flank a bit. Enter the Salvation. It's cheap and hits well above it's weight class plus the double Brace means it won't live long but it should live through a few shots from a Cymoon. Hopefully it would take the heat off the rest of the fleet just a bit.

Faction: Rebel Alliance
Points: 400/400

Commander: Admiral Raddus

Assault Objective: Most Wanted
Defense Objective: Contested Outpost
Navigation Objective: Solar Corona

[ flagship ] CR90 Corvette A (44 points)
- Admiral Raddus ( 26 points)
- Turbolaser Reroute Circuits ( 7 points)
= 77 total ship cost

CR90 Corvette A (44 points)
- Turbolaser Reroute Circuits ( 7 points)
= 51 total ship cost

Nebulon-B Support Refit (51 points)
- Salvation ( 7 points)
- Turbolaser Reroute Circuits ( 7 points)
= 65 total ship cost

MC80 Battle Cruiser (103 points)
- Mon Karren ( 8 points)
- Intel Officer ( 7 points)
- Gunnery Team ( 7 points)
- Engine Techs ( 8 points)
- Spinal Armament ( 9 points)
- X17 Turbolasers ( 6 points)
- Leading Shots ( 4 points)
= 152 total ship cost

GR-75 Medium Transports (18 points)
- Hondo Ohnaka ( 2 points)
- Comms Net ( 2 points)
= 22 total ship cost

1 Shara Bey ( 17 points)
1 Tycho Celchu ( 16 points)
= 33 total squadron cost

General game plan is to point the Salivation and Transport at the enemy and flank hard with the CR90s and keep my distance until the MC80BC comes in. MC80BC doesn't necessarily need to be close like the MC75 to do it's damage so first player isn't quite as important. Should I drop Salvation? I could easily drop in another CR90 and Transport (drop comms and Hondo from the other GR75) for the points but I'm not sure the other activation really add that much. Thoughts? Changes?

I would put QBTs on Salvation and use the 2 extra points on Jiana's light for the flagship.

The big nasty cruiser seems a little too tooled up. Mon Karren and XI7s and Intel Officer all hurt defence tokens but could be seen as getting you diminishing returns as only 1 token can be spent against Mon Karren anyway. a target with ECM is probably your most tricky thing to deal with but Mon Karren and the Intel officer should hurt once you Intel the brace token. I would trade XI7s for XX9s for extra crits and drop either Intel officer and or engine techs. A speed 3 deepstriking MC80B should easily be able to keep up with its victim after arrival. Spare yoints could get you a Z95 or an A-wing and maybe a small bid.

I usually run my Liberty as a Star Cruiser with Gunnery Teams, Leading shots, XX-9s and XI-7 Turbolasers. It is efficient at whacking small ships and Raddus helps with positioning. I usually roll around 6 damage and an accuracy. I feel like you can get by without Mon Karren or drop XI-7s. Also not sure what you plan to do with Engine techs since you don't really need to be too fast cause Raddus it in.

MC80 Star Cruiser (96)
• Gunnery Team (7)
• Leading Shots (4)
• XI7 Turbolasers (6)
• XX-9 Turbolasers (5)
= 118 Points

This is my base for my Raddus ship. It can't really go toe to toe with ISDs, but thanks to raddus I won't be in the front arc most of the time.

I also recommend a Quantum Storm Flotilla for raddusing in the ship.
