Imbue on Creatures?

By AeroEng42, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

I was brainstorming character concepts the other day, and an interesting idea crossed my mind. However, for it to work, the Imbue power would need to be able to affect beasts. My understanding of the intent of the power is that it would work with any living thing, but the Q&A with Order 66 specifically discussed the moral implications of the power as well as a reason why it wouldn't work on droids. Non-sentient lifeforms wouldn't care either, so by that logic, a character wouldn't be able to increase the characteristic of a creature. What are people's opinions?

As background, the character concept I thought of was a mounted Force wizard: Seeker Pathfinder/Hermit. The Force user could use Imbue to enhance the Brawn or Agility of his mount (or both if using Dark Side points) to increase the mount's damage, handling, and soak, which could be quite fun.

I was in a game where a Hermit imbued it’s force bonded animal companion. Of course, (like anything) just run the idea by your GM as everybody has different interpretations or restraints based off personal preference.

Thanks, @Vergence . Whenever I get to play, I am pretty much always the GM, but it doesn't stop me from fantasizing about characters I would like to play (or cool NPCs I can throw at my players). I was mostly wanting to poll other, more experienced GMs to get their take on whether this idea fits within RAW and RAI for the power, and, if I allowed it, whether it would be overly powerful.

In my personal opinion, it takes a lot of XP to to reach the necessary force ratings for the larger more powerful animal companion silhouette sizes to be even available to the Jedi. Thus, comparatively to other XP expenditures, I don’t consider it overpowered.

Technically, in this case it doesn't, because I wasn't talking about Imbuing the Animal Companion, but rather a trained mount, which is independent of Force rating. That's why I chose Pathfinder/Hermit. My character concept at Knight level would be Force rating 2 with Imbue and would have Soothing Tone. The idea being that he would have a boss Survival skills so that he could train something dangerous like a Narglatch or Mature Tusk Cat and ride it into battle. His first action would be to Imbue his mount to increase Brawn and/or Agility, then commit dice so the buff lasts til the end of the encounter. The character can then attack with his now-buffed mount's natural weapons in subsequent rounds and heal any strain it took if using a Dark Side point to buff 2 characteristics.

Note: the Imbue duration upgrade wouldn't be available immediately at Knight level, but it wouldn't take long to get to.
