Rebels list for a store tourney this weekend (Miranda, Thane, Bandit)

By Snowmandan, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Okay disclaimer, I don't care if slot for slot these ships are the most effective in their role. The K-wing I believe is the only super M E T A ship of this list and I am okay with that. I have a few casual events under my belt, but I am still grasping the ropes of this game. I have no illusions of winning this tournament, I just want to play ships I think are cool and have fun, but still have a decent list. I am fully aware the Auzituck is God-tier and probably better than the ARC-170 in this role, I am going to buy an Auzituck next pay cheque which is after this store tourney. With that out of the way here's the list:

Thane Kyrell — ARC-170 26
Plasma Torpedoes 3
Tactician 2
R3-A2 2
Vectored Thrusters 2
Alliance Overhaul 0
Ship Total: 35

Miranda Doni — K-Wing 29
Twin Laser Turret 6
Extra Munitions 2
Ion Pulse Missiles 3
Sabine Wren 2
Bomblet Generator 3
Ion Bombs 2
Advanced SLAM 2
Ship Total: 49

Bandit Squadron Pilot — Z-95 Headhunter 12
Harpoon Missiles 4
Guidance Chips 0
Ship Total: 16

Ideally the goal of the list is to pick out the ship in my opponent's list I like the least (or one that they leave open) Liter it with ion and stress tokens also harpoon it off the first engagement to lock it out the game. Then otherwise just be really tanky/controlly with Miranda, have her soak up shots so Thane can start barrel rolling, getting tokens, dealing out stress tokens and such. If they shoot Thane, then that's great too. Miranda has a shot of making it into the late game. The Bandit Squadron is mostly there to get ignored and so I could fill out points on the list. If he gets his harpoon missile off on a priority target he's pulled his weight IMO. If someone shoots him first, sure that means my other ships are untouched.

What I am debating is if I should take Nien Numb on my ARC-170 instead of Tactician. The logic there being, sure I don't get my ideal range 2 ability to load on two stress tokens, or one stress token without having to stress myself out. However Nien makes giving myself a stress token with R3-A2 less of a burden and should I do that it makes my ship a little less predictable in the move I am going to take. A green 4 forward on an otherwise slow ship with a rear firing arc that can turn eye results into crits (especially if it's on the target I've harpooned) Sounds great on paper to me, but I want to hear what you guys think. Thanks for reading this far if you have!

Have you considered taking Braylen instead of Thane? His ability would help with disposing of the R3A2 stress.

I have! I just like that with the combination of Vectored Thrusters and Thanes pilot ability being able to re-position at pilot skill 4 in the middle of the shooting phase would be nice, as well as grab a target lock if I focused up that turn. On paper I feel like that would be more powerful than leaving to chance if I don't stress myself out or not. However that's why I wish there were a few more casual meet-ups before this tourney so I could play test the two and see which is better, because I definitely have considered it.

If I took Braylen I'd probably drop Vectored Thrusters, but keep Tactician and that would open up three points on the list. I'll play around with it.

I played a similar Braylen with Munitions Failsafe and Baze Malbus. If the plasmas miss, just stress another ship then get rind of on stress from a green and another from her ability. Sometimes it works, sometimes not... I paired it with two tactician/expertise Auzitucks. If you play rebels a lot, they are a solid investment.

I would just keep tactcian. With VT, you can b-roll into range 2 if they attack a friendly, then laydown double stress. Could prevent the enemy from firing all together if their only shot is on Miranda but dont want to get double stressed.
