I've started flying this squad and it's suprisingly funny and functional squadron to play around. Against most small-based ships this squad has quite nice kill ratio, bit of problem are big Scum ships, especially Asajj, with lots of evade dice (but it's also maybe thanks to my incredibly bad dice rolls in those battles).

Deathrain is a real surprise for me, as he can be really swift ship to play around. It's first time I've tried Punisher out and it's real fun. I was trying Rain with AcuC or Trajectory Simulator and still not decided which upgrade gives more offensive power.

Rho is classical, I'd rather play it in slamm/shoot combination than with Deadeye/chips, it gives me more possibilities but I think that depends on every player.

Backdraft is my personal "must have" choise rather than Quickdraw as I think he's more variable. His ability in combination with AcuCor gives brutal power when you ALWAYS have 3 hits with crit (I hope I got it right). Intensity is quite useful but I'm thinking of switching it with VI, which could give me freedom to choose which ship will start.

What do you think about it?

Sadly, no, two hits and a crit doesn't work with Backdraft. Accuracy Corrector prevents you from further modifying your dice, so you couldn't add a Crit after using AccC. Don't get me wrong: I love Accuracy Corrector on generic TIE/SF. However, I think FCS is the way to go on Backdraft and Quickdraw. Intensity is something that I only really like if there's either a source of free movement actions (Snap Wexley, Jake Farrell), or free tokens (Jake, Guri, TIE/x7, Poe--in the sense he doesn't spend his focus). I think I'd probably switch it to VI. It's kinda boring that VI/FCS/Advanced Optics is kinda the default loadout for both the named TIE/SF, but it works. Switching to something like Expertise or A Score To Settle is also OK, but better on QD. Another thought for Backdraft I'd thought about is Crack Shot. With the auto-crit in the rear arc, having a Crack Shot to push it through is interesting to me. However, since BD attacks first in this list, and PS 9 still seems like a useful target, it doesn't seem as appealing.

That Deathrain is a lot of fun. I love it, and am tempted to paint Bloodstripes on one of my Punishers, since he's almost as nimble as Soontir Fel. I mean, not really, but you know.

My thought on the Rho is that, perhaps if switching to VI/FCS on Backdraft, you could switch to Push the Limit on the Rho. That'd allow action sequences of SLAM-TL-Focus (slam and shoot with full mods), or [SLAM]-Reload-TL (shoot when empty). The greens aren't amazing on a Starwing, but they're not that bad. Is PS 6 paying off? I guess there's a lot of Lowhhrick/Ezra out there at PS 5, as well as Countess Ryad. Tying Pure Sabaac and Vessery also makes sense. It's a trade-off.

Ah, thanks for the info, regardles it's sad news - I was really convinced that adding another dice is OK...well, I was wrong. Regardless this, Backdraft is still my favorite TIE/SF..I'll experiment with another combinations, I have also some good experience with Advanced Sensors...But VI/FCS/AO is really functional, I can say so..and bit of boring, as you said...

About Rain - do you think thats AccC is better than ProSim? I know, that launching bomb won't start barrel roll but it will give some other options. Or is the reality worse than I think?

Adding an attack die before you attack (one that you roll into the pool, such as Special Operations Training in the front arc, Cruise Missiles, or Jan Ors' pilot ability) isn't modifying dice. Adding a specific result (a Crit from Backdraft, a Blank from Finn, a Focus from Norra Wexley) is modifying dice. It's kind of an awkward distinction.

Personally, I've only really flown with Accuracy Corrector, since Deathrain has extra options already for placing bombs, but I know some folks like it. What I dislike about TrajSim is that you lose out on pretty much all red dice from Deathrain, or lose out on actions. A 2 dice primary without Accuracy Corrector on a ship which is a third of your points is incredibly weak. Even with Accuracy Corrector it's not necessarily that strong. Going Unguided Rockets is an option that exists but I don't personally like; you can't spend your focus for defense (which does matter on 1+LWF) most of the time, and you can't boost. However, Trajectory Simulator will probably deal more damage with your bombs. But it might not. PS 6 bombs aren't *that* hard to dodge, particularly when you know they're coming.

I second the FCS/VI suggestion for Backdraft, and I would suggest you switch to PTL or Deadeye on the Rho. PTL would be my fav, as you can SLAM, Reload, Focus/TL, all in one turn.

I like your thought to get TrajSim on Deathrain - it provides an inane level of bombing flexibility. To keep his offense up, Unguided Rockets is very strong on a Punisher who is generally free to focus.
