I mean, the rank and file where shooting exclusively at a handful of some of the most powerful characters in the setting.

You could read the “precise” quip as a sarcastic slight or take it at face value to foreshadow just how good our hero’s are.

Alternately, if we assume Obi-Wan was serious, and the Stormtroopers were as bad as it appeared, we could adjust our expectations for the rest of the galaxy. After all, if Stormtroopers are precise, how random must everyone else in the galaxy shoot? Maybe everyone else just pulls out their guns and starts firing without bothering to even consider where the weapon is pointed?

but storm troopers are precise, the just aren't accurate. I'm sure all their shots form nice little groupings, it's just nowhere near where they are aiming.

Haha, but stormtroopers are accurate - they hit everything the scriptwriters want them to!!! :)

Plot force is stronger than 'the force' as everyone knows.

Plot force after all is faster than the falcon, stronger than a bolt of force lighting and more powerful than a death star laser.

This. That, and they overrun both Tantive IV and hoth like a steam roller; no problem shooting at the scrubs without plot armor.

I think stormtroopers use their weapons more like submachine guns, spray a lot of bullets, but not hit much. Where rebel troopers are more like aiming rifles, hit more, but hits are negated by armor.

Think wild west America. Lots of people carried guns, almost everyone owned one, but unless in a hunting situation most people couldn’t hit ****. That’s why gunslingers were so feared. In a duel with a guy you know can hit you in one shot being confident you can hit in 3-4 was not good odds.

Errata: Precise X(after rolling attack dice, determine the result that appeared the most. If there is a tie, priority is in this order: blanks, surges, hits, crits. If there are other results, take X of those dice and change them to a face with the result that appeared the most.)

Another point:
E-11 blasters are sub maschine guns. inaccurate at longer distances bot devestating in cramped environments and close quarters fighting.
Legion has no range modifiers for weapons. But now look at the hand to hand dice the Stormtroopers get ;)
You know why they are better in close combat than Rebel Troopers? Because they use the E-11. Use them as they are intended. As Stormtoopers (fyi they are directly inspired by the WW1 German Sturmtruppen which were armed with cqb gear and body armour to take over trenches) to charge enemy positions. Use your red armour dice to get in nice and close and then clear the position to take an objective.

The E-11 prop is based on an SMG, but they've always been Blaster Rifles. Not even a Carbine.
