Why is the volume of posts on this forum so light? Is it because only 1:5 people playing the game actual has bought it? Is it just not player friendly?

In my case, it's because the questions I really wanted dealt with aren't going to be. I want to know when we can expect certain content. The answer being, of course, as soon as it's ready.
The game itself is extremely self-explanatory and player directed. It doesn't require as much discussion as I thought it would originally.
A lot of questions have already been answered in the FAQ. When I read all of the past posts they pretty much consisted of asking the same questions that are currently in the FAQ.
Also 3e hasn't added more information or changed the setting significantly from what was in 2e. Storm of Chaos being retconned is pretty much in keeping with GW's current stance, so not much uproar there. So there's not really a whole lot to "discuss", the setting is pretty defined. Most of the discussion has been on the mechanics themselves, and there's a fair number of house rules that address those points.
Finally, I think people are waiting for the first Campaign and the GM's toolkit. Once those are released I expect we'll see a lot of people who were keeping mum awaiting certain content to be released.
Actually it has nearly 20,000 posts comparted to Rogue Traders 11,000
And if you break it down by posts per day,
Dark Heresey gets around 60 posts
Warhammer FRP gets around 100 post a day.
Rogue Trade 27 posts a day.
Also unlike most RPGs, this one does suffer from the whole "The gm is likely to be the only one with the rules" thing. This is because I suspect most players don't want to pay 100 bucks if the GM already has the game. And if you haven't really dug deep into the rules there's not to much to talk about.
Well, we're running out of things to discuss. Prior to release, there was a lot of speculation and discussion about the various designer diaries. Then there was the demo with various discussions about actual play experiences and critiques of the content and system from that brief exposure. After the game was released there was a lot of discussion about content, system, completeness, etc. and lots of rules discussions. As time has gone by, the rules discussions have pretty much played themselves out. Most of the things that needed clarifying or got the most discussion threads have been covered in the FAQ. The haters have mostly moved on. What does that leave us to discuss?
I personally rarely frequent the House Rules subforum because quite frankly, I'm content to play the game as written and don't really have an interest in other's house rules regardless of how good they may be in their author's (or other's) eyes or what "problem(s)" they claim to address. The GM subforum has pretty much become a place to pitch fan made scenarios or discuss ideas for them. Aside from the fact that players may not even be lurking in this subforum due to its already narrow focus, not all GM's are going to contribute new threads or be willing to jump in and critique others' work. The other two subforums aren't even needed anymore, with FFG making new announcement threads in the general forum and the demo event having long since past.
I suspect that there will be an uptick of discussion as more people get their hands on the GM Toolkit, then things will die down again until The Gathering Storm hits, which will cause it's own brief uptick. After that, we'll be stuck waiting for the next box of content to discuss. Otherwise, what's left for us to discuss?
So far enjoying the system, but it's very limited right now. The game needs more of everything right now so after our current campaign finishes up, we are shelving the game probably for several months till they get out some more meat into the game. The GM kit I'm interested in, but for them to release Gathering Storm so early in the products release is just a huge let down to our group. The game needs so much filling out of the gaps it has introduced, and they waste FFG's limited release windows on a campaign set? Never liked prepackaged campaigns/scenarios so the set is useless to us.
Need more action cards/spells/races/careers/advanced careers/items/beastiery/etc/etc.
I'm afraid that FFG might have messed up the release of this game, they built up lot of hype and lot of people were excited for the product, but judging from ours as well as many other posters thoughts, many are just getting bored with it. The Adventurer kit was nice little add on but it came out quick after the initial box set, since then we haven't gotten anything meaningful added to the game and the box set is just too limited in scope when WHF features such a vast world.
I don't know why players claim the game needs more action cards when normal RPGs have ONE action card for combat: "BASIC MELEE ATTACK".
A lack of posts doesn't necessarily indicate boredom. I just think that other forums are more conducive to talking about the history and social aspects of Warhammer than this one. The breakup of the sections here imply that we ought to talk about primarily rules and gameplay; they don't encourage discussions of Warhammer history and/or general chatting. There's only so much rules discussion that one can have. I wish they'd open up a forum for discussing the Warhammer universe and culture, but maybe they think that'd end up being too much v1/v2 discussion, since most of the source books for culture come from previous versions of the game. (I also wouldn't mind seeing a straightforward RP section, but that doesn't seem to be FFG's style.)
I don't know that we need too many more action cards, aside from perhaps some class specifics.
Mostly, I'd like to see more advancement options for classes, in the form of linear progression. It's fine to hop around from one career to the next, but there needs to be a way to stick with one line and grow better at it.
This is especially true with the Wizard and Priest lines, who currently are extremely limited, as well as the Trollslayer line. If anyone in my group ever ends up as a Slayer, they're going to be stuck by the time they reach Giantslayer... you can't just become an Ironbreaker. You're a Slayer until you die.
What I really want to see:
* Lots more monsters. Go to monster action cards. Introduce more monster specific action cards.
* More social action cards and really expand to create unique social encounters.
* More location cards with exanded ways to use narration and rule mechanics with terrian.
* Campaigns - Enough to keep going should I choose not to write my own.

Disagree - I think a key target market is newer RPG players and we (the royal we) are crying out for a campaign set.
Not bored in the least over this way.
Agree with your 'need more ...' etc tho' - bring it all on!

Going along with that, some people (like me) haven't ever used Warhammer rules/mechanics. Since that is what is mostly presented and discussed here - it doesn't make much sense to keep coming back. And that isn't a complaint, it just is. The earlier forums had a bit more discussion of fluff and the world in general. That has essentially stopped, although I couldn't indicate any overarching reason for it. I pop back in from time to time to see if I can gather any good campaign ideas or if there have been any really good fan materials posted, but that is about all that interests me. Maybe in the end that is why others have stopped as well - it is a consumer's world. If you can't find what you want here, why come back? The internet just offers too many alternatives.
