Purely gameplay wise i think after the floater nerf rebels need a light carrier. Pretty much same as the quasar - a mobile box with sqn 4 and some upgrade slots.
What scale will the May 1st announcement be?
I'm with Simpatikool, a third faction, as it has come to x-wings. Zann, or Republic, or CIS (that is F)? Or Mandalore with Keldabe? With rules reworking?
a huge one would be a FAQed card reprint, available to those that can produce proof of purchase of the ships that have been FAQed. Will stay as just a dream I think
ssd can not get into armada, too huge and would break game balance. Resurgent? not just after Cymoon.
or Acclamator/Dreadnought
certainly not many ships at once, because why burn several waves worth of cool just in one go? that would be commercially bad
/edit or a Imperial MSU pack with Carrack/Lancers, non-squadron-pushing, heavy-hitting, AA-bandwagon, fast and fragile pair
Edited by gounourIssue with the imperials getting a small or medium AA ship is a couple of quotes from a new hope....
"the imperials don't see small 1 man craft as a threat"
" sir, there too small they are evading our turbo lasers"

they didnt think it was a threat to the Death Star, you cannot extrapolate for galaxy wide military doctrine from that
Edited by GeressenWhy dont they think its a threat to the death star... If it was because the escorts would deal with them (enemy stub fighters) then where were they? If its because the death star could shrug off any attack why were they bothered by them? ...Remember that Vader launched the fighters before the attack was analysed to find the fault...
The vibe the film gives off is that the attitude of the ranking officers on the Death Star (and therefore the Fleet as a whole) is that enemy stub fighters are too weak to hurt imperial ships
If they were to do a campaign, I would love to see new titles, and new versions of ship cards. Sure we have 4 ISDs, but we still need a 5th. Tector refit is needed to fill out my RotJ battle reenactment!
Of course we also still need the MC80A as well as the Braha'tok. FFG did say "If you see it on screen, you will see it in Armada."
Come on FFG, take my money!

Trying to guess what type of news we'll get for Armada. Not specific ships here, but more along the scale of what we'll see on May 1st. Personally, I'll be thrilled if we get C or better, but I"ll be ok if we at least get B. A would annoy me.
A) Paperwork only - IE new rules, a new format, or new digital content like a map maker, or list builder.
B) Another small wave, only 2 ships.
C) Semi-Small Wave - 2 Ships Plus a squadron pack or two.
D) Large Wave - 4 Ships!
E) Extra Large Wave 4 Ships PLUS Squadrons (like wave 2!)
F) New Core Set - (Prequels, Sequels, or maybe even same timeframe)
G) Super Star Destroyer
What do you guys think? and also - what do you hope for?
Everything!!
I hope that the first post about "no new news, armada is dead" that gets posted is longer than a few weeks after the Hyperspace report
New FAQ raising squadron limit to 300 points

I was having a good morning right until then . Thanks.
I'm hoping for new campaign which probably falls to category 2. Something with some new titles and ship variants. Maybe a fighter pack with uwings for Rebels and some other random fighters.
Im pretty meh about epic play. The board size would be too large and it would take too long. Probably play it once and then just have another model on the shelf.
Ships, there will be ships! ![]()
Seriously though, what would i love to see? Everything you listed, Crabbock, but it's a well-known fact that i have a prack addiction ![]()
However, call me crazy, but i think we might actually be getting a 4-ship wave. The nerf to flotillas and Yavaris makes me suspect that rebels are getting the Broha'tok Gunship and a dedicated carrier sooner, rather than later.
My guesses:
New ships, obviously.
New objectives, hopefully. + throw out the original ones
Pie in the sky? A mechanical alteration to the game to drop competitive play time by an hour or more. Preferably in the form of objectives taking over the win/end condition of the game, rather than fleet destruction. In Star Wars, whether cannon/non cannon, "Victory" was determined by your success at your objective as part of an over arching plan. Losing ships is usually secondary or even irrelevant.

There, there. Well have them both taken out back and savagely beaten for their insolence.
C. The answer is always C.
Maybe it'll be all the things. Here's the dream team scenario.
Armada - the BIG announcement.
Wave 8 - Dornean Gunship, Venator, along with a dual squadron pack, U-Wings, TIE Strikers, New Falcon, and the new TIE from Solo.
Wave 9 : (Announced at same time) - New Core Set - Clone Wars. Republic Venator, Separaists ships as well, plus a lunach wave and squadron packs to fill out these factions.
Wave 9 also comes with the Super Pack - The WOLF Pack - (EU Dreadnoughts) - They are the first ship that is NOT faction specific. Can go anywhere. Kitana Fleet title. Probably makes good use of tokens, hopefully it'll synergize well with Garm Bel Iblis.
Supplemental Release - Dual Mammoth Ship pack - Executor pack, $179.99, and Viscount $129.99 both available November 2017.
Also point limit raised to 500 points. That and world peace. And Fox/Disney deal is announced to be complete and the X-Men and Fantastic Four will be in the next Avengers movie... and FFG Gets the rights to make a STar Trek version of Armada.... and Pablo Hidalgo says that lightsaber Nunchucks will be a real thing and a live action Thundercats movie begins filming... and Katy Perry write a love song about me.
All those things.
Edited by Crabbok21 hours ago, Thrindal said:This is where my money is. My guess is two small ship releases even though Rebels sorely need a medium ship. I do think we will also get G as a stand alone release as well.
I think there is an outside chance of a faction jumping release where we get an Imperial Nebulon B and a Rebel Quasar as both are cannon.
Neb would operate nicely as an Imp ship, but I still dont see it happening since we never see them used by the empire onscreen vs all the times we see the alliance use them. (Unless its in an ep of rebels somewhere)
FFG is aware that some of you have 6 extra flotillas. They are clearly announcing a trade-in program...
If FFG makes a Star Trek version than I would be really bankrupt.
If ever SSD is published, my assumption would be that it would be the double size of ISD and cost around $99.99. ( yup I know, not true scale but it would be more practical )
If ever Katy Perry writes a love song about you, it will be about her jealousy toward Armada as it occupies more time of yours ![]()
I think I am with many people in this that I would love more objectives. I think there is a good amount of ships out there that go unused that could use a buff. I would hope to see:
- more objectives
- more squad types for the existing squads
- more titles and ship variants (maybe even a aces pack for our oldies)
- keep up with slowly releasing new ships (this really helps players learn and adapt, then throw a wrench in the whole thing).
So basically a new CC and maybe 2 ships... and a SSD... which is, in all, asking for a ton...
I think the game has enough depth that waves of 2 ships that are well thought out and balanced is sufficient.
As for something big, Jyn Erso makes me think there is an objectives shakeup coming

Epic play will most likely come with new objectives, some of which will be usable in the standard game.

most likely 0.00.
