Spoilers: Rougarou "Rewards"

By Jobu, in Arkham Horror: The Card Game

Okay I am a tad confused:

During Act 1b you add the Curse of Rougarou to the lead investigators threat area. Cool no issues there.

During R2, it tells you to remove Curse of Rougarou from the lead investigators deck. But it was never added to your deck. What gives?

During R1 and R3 it does not tell you to remove Curse of the Rougarou from your deck, which is fine since it was never in your deck.

So what is really suppose to happen during R1 and 3? Why call it out explicitly in R2 but not in R1 and 3? I mean its not like you add Dissonant Voices to your deck because its in your threat area when a game ends.

There was an FAQ entry that any Weakness added to your threat area or hand during a game still counts as being added to your deck. In essence, you earned that Weakness and can't remove it until explicitly allowed to.

Thanks and found it.

(v1.0) Rules Reference page 21, column 2, “Weakness
The fifth bullet point should read: “If a weakness is added to a player’s deck, hand, threat area during the play of a scenario, that weakness remains a part of that investigator’s deck for the rest of the campaign. (Unless it is removed from the campaign by a card ability or scenario resolution.)
In case you were interested, they included the phrase "threat area" in the FAQ which is missing from the RR.

Dissonant Voices is also not a weakness, it's a treachery/encounter card. Curse is a weakness which has a player card back.

Yeah, that was my point in saying that. It doesn't make sense to add Dissonant Voices to your deck.

Its all good, Network57 pointed out what I was missing very well. FYI Curse is also a treachery card.

Weakness is not a type, it's a separate characteristic. There are weaknesses that are assets, events, treacheries and enemies (the common point is that they all have a player back, since they're meant to be part of a player's deck). I wouldn't be surprised to find skill weaknesses in the future.

Prepare to be not surprised. :)

Ah, it's been publicly revealed, then.

Yeah, think of weaknesses as negative player cards, cards that are designed to ruin your strategy. They aren't always curses or treacheries. Some take the form of tasks, some in the form of assets, and some in the form of enemies.
