Raddus 1 + Many

By The Jabbawookie, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

An attempt to have my cake (Raddus large base) and eat it too (activation advantage and initiative.) A moderate 7 deployments, 6 activations and a 9 point bid for first or second before the bomb drops. Having Raddus on a hammerhead isn't ideal, but initiative and careful play should keep him safe until Aspiration is on the table. Alternatively it's almost the same cost as a CR90B lifeboat if I choose to use it that way in certain matchups. Minefields is there ideally to be used to full effect, but if they bring Strategic the mines and obstacles can be placed deep in my corners as a discount Dangerous Territory. Credit to @Snipafist for the Armored Cruiser loadout. Any thoughts or recommendations are greatly appreciated! :)

I'm scared of having Raddus on a Hammerhead but I couldn't tell you exactly what would be preferable that didn't involve dropping two ships. Probably dropping a Hammerhead and GR in favor of Admonition, would be my recommendation, but like I said, you're dropping two ships that way.

He’s fine on the Hammerhead. With 6 activations before Aspiration drops, you will very likely be able to move him last. Then you will probably drop Aspiration at the top of round 2.

Just make sure not to play Fleet Ambush.

I think just about the only way he could possibly die round 1 is if a Sloane Quasar had Pryce on board and chose round 1 to go last, and used the Marek / Jendon tag team alongside Rhymer, and maybe a couple more TIE Defenders. And then only if your A-Wings are terribly out of position.

It's not uncommon when running four TF Organa Hammerheads to only have three attack... I figure he's an easy choice to stay in the back and exhaust his title to start the "exhaust chain" (corvette 1 shoots, exhausts flag, corvette 2 shoots, exhausts 1 etc.) ER is on there because it's amazing and the ordnance slot is open anyway.

Being committed to dropping round 2 isn't great and trying to wait for round 3 presents problems if you have concerns about Raddus getting assassinated. Putting him on something more durable solves those problems.
