Righteous fury and flamers

By Moniker2, in Rogue Trader Rules Questions

Hello all, first time posting on these forums! I just wanted to say that I have been browsing them and have found many excellent answers to my questions. However, I still have a few questions. First of all, how do you deal with flamers and righteous fury? In the description of RF, it says you have to "confirm" with a WS or BS check in order to activate the RF. Recently one of my players scored a 10 with his flamer damage die, and I had to rule on the fly. I ended up having him test his BS to "confirm" and then let him activate it when he passed his check. Is that right? Since you don't actually have to succeed a BS test to flamer things, it kinda confused me. Then again, maybe I am just easily confused.

Another question is about photon flash grenades. It looks like they just automatically blind people with no chance to save in a burst. The burst area is also undefined. I was just going to make it roughly equal to the mean grenade explosion radius, what do you all think? Also, is it true that they automatically blind people, or can they make some sort of save? Thanks in advance folks, and I apologize if any of these questions are noobtacular or otherwise a waste of someone's time!

Since a flamers to hit roll is an agility test made by the one getting shot I'd just use that.

Hey, that's not a bad idea. I think I might use that! Thanks.

Happy to help.

About the Photon flash, in dark heresy they hit targets up to 15 metres away and stun for 1d5 rounds unless the target makes a toughness test.

Hmm it looks like those two functions got split into different grenades in RT. 15 meters sounds reasonable for a blast radius on a flash grenade. I think I will use that. Thanks for the info!
