Good work!
I’m pasting in links from Imgur. So none of the pictures actually live here and they don’t contribute at all to the 500kb. It’s super easy to do.
anyway, I got around to lacquering and decorating the bases on my dusty Rebels. Good enough for the tabletop anyway:

I was talking about uploading pics and posting.
I do more painting than gaming. I was posting low res pics...
After two weeks of work travel I can home and managed to get the base coat on my Leia before I had to travel again.

Pretty happy with how she turned out so far. I have to do some washing and maybe some highlighting. The reference photos I have to Endor Leia are all more faded and less vivid than this. I’m not sure if I could recreate that effect but I’m thinking a pretty diluted Nuln oil Agrax earthsade combo.
i worked pretty hard trying to get the green shirt color matched, but couldn’t quite get there. This is two parts Ogryn camo, 1 part deathworld forest and two parts Fenrisian gray. The reference is less vivid green and more gray. So my version looks a bit more cartoony but I’m okay with that.
i should be home tomorrow night to think about washes, highlights and basing.
Here’s finished Leia. The matte varnish went chalky on me and I don’t really know why... I decided to give her a very grassy bass, which worked okay.

Move also done a snow base and primed my T47 in Black. Looks stealthy:

Reminds me a F117 Nighthawk ?

Yeah, right? More than just a little bit. I primed it black with the hope of having the recessed panel edges stay dark but it looks so good I am tempted to leave it black. Maybe after I get through my huge backlog of troopers I will pick up a second one.
Behold the glory of my mediocre airspeeder. I made a lot of mistakes in the way I approached this. But I basically wasn’t making it better by doing more work on it.

1 hour ago, Mep said:You did a real good job painting her up but that sculpt of Leia's face is soooo bad it is just cringe worthy. Maybe Mel will make a head swap for her. We need the buns!
It’s not the greatest. It looks good on the left facing profile. It’s tough though because none of us are painting eyes and makeup, which are important for our perception of female attractiveness.
I think the speeder looks quite good.
I always remind myself that I paint four inches away, but look at models playing from three feet away.

You mean this?

That is a real nice model. She actually has eyes, and a proper nose and a rounded face and of course the buns.
BTW, I actually got some of that guys other heads. The Mon Cal heads were too big but the other heads were great.
Yes me too! I have done the Mon Cal (as squad leader), the Ishi Tib, the Quarren, the Devaronian and the Sullustan so far. Good ones ??
Two more rebel squads done:

Pretty happy with both of these. Equally happy that they’re finished. I haven’t varnished the blue guys yet. I may skip it because I’m worried it will wreck the snow, although I varnished the green guys with my airbrush and the level of control was super. So I might give it a try.
Primed my Fleet Troopers, and my last ATRT and that’s it for the rebels (for a while at least. I have two stormtroopers, snowtroopers a speeder bike squad and my ATST left for the imperials. Still, starting to feel like there is light st the end of the tunnel.
Looking pretty good as a group:

I know I’m no great artist but I think these are plenty good to add some fun and immersion to the game.

BTW, just got this in today. The size is perfect. It is 3D printed, so the detail isn't great, but good enough if you try hard with the painting.
Hey:
The link is not working for some reason.
Aye, I noticed it last week when I wanted to order it. The item has been removed from shapeways for some reasons. Too bad I have been too slow.
Haven’t posted in a while. Here’s some pictures of my Fleet Troopers in Progress:

I feel like these guys have a lot less annoying detail than the rebel troopers and I’m really enjoying working on them. I’m not sure how I will handle the bases yet. The helmets are next and then the wash and any clean up or highlights.
Yeah, the bases are tough. My heart says "ship corridor" but in all earnestness, they're going to be fielded on other kinds of terrain.
Maybe you can pin their feet or magnetize them, so when the premium trooper bases arrive you can easily switch them out.

I already glued them. I actually want to do another set but I might wait until the new bases come out. Or maybe I won’t.
I bought a few Citadel bad texture paints and I will probably end up trying one of those out.

They removed the individual and put it as part of a 4-pack

Edited by DrasnightaSo, unsurprisingly, it turns out it was a mistake to prime the fleet trooper helmets in black. In the future I might prime them seoerateky from the body (because I’m generally happy with the way the bodies look. I might also try priming everything in white and using the inking method @MiniJunkie described on his YouTube channel.
In the meantime I have a macabre forest of fleet trooper heads on toothpicks (I’ll try for a picture later) because they need about 100 coats of white to get even coverage over the black primer.
