I'm taking a wild guess that that's a pure atmospheric vehicle and probably not x-wing-able.

Honestly, having stepped back and taken another look at the thing, it looks like a wookiee HWK-290.

I'd be down for a Wookiee atmospheric fighter (if that's what it is.) Open the door to the T-47, Cloud Car, Police Gunship and other great air speeders. The argument, "they can't go in space, so they don't belong in X-wing," ignores all the space ship battles that happen in atmosphere.

I mean yes, but you don't get asteroids and debris clouds in atmosphere, and bombs don't hover in atmosphere...

No obstacles or new obstacles for atmospheric battles?

Bombs don't always hover in space in Star Wars either, but they do in the game. Anyway, this game would be better without bombs regardless of elevation or gravity.

I could see new obstacles. I think that could be kinda cool.

An atmospheric version is not something I'd personally have a tremendous objection to, but I doubt FFG will go that way.
