Is it just me, or do photos just not do the stormtrooper models justice? I feel like, in person, they look bulky and threatening and cool, but in photos they never capture that menace. Am I crazy?
Stormtroopers don’t photograph well

Learn how to project their presence, to own the battlefield with a jaunty hip-shot or timely flick of the helmet, and really 'wow' the whole theatre (of war) with attitude and poise.
Edited by ABXYLighting is very important when photographing miniatures. A white box helps and contrast is important for mostly white figures.

Take your photos in a windowless room with the door closed and all the lights turned out, and I guarantee you'll have consistent photos.
