Mark Hamill Has Had Enough
It's a sad day star wars biggest advocate has been broken, now he's one of ussssssss.
Passive-aggressive Mark is awesome. The tension between him and Ruin is pretty evident in all the interviews they do.
Ruin still refuses to accept responsibility for how divisive TLJ has been, though.
So... Rian Johnson killed Carrie Fisher? is that the angle people are taking here?
Also, no one has ever paid money to watch Mark Hamill depict human emotions. What's the last non-Star Wars movie he headlined? Midnight Ride?
Edited by skotothalamosI'll never fathom why trust was never given to Mark Hamill to lead this movie. As far as I'm concerned he's a great actor.
Harrison Ford, who could not express enough how little he wanted his character to remain in the franchise was given the role of leading the new cast through the audiences Star Wars universe in FA - that's a big deal (herrherrherr) for any character. If you can't offer a script that allows some more dominance for someone who is considered the main character of the series then you've went wrong straight off the bat.
Granted, Hamills career never hit the stratosphere like Fords, but this is Star Wars. Put Luke in the driving seat and take it from there.
I could expand on more LJ negativity but that dead horse is long beaten. Plus I'm sick of being told I'm sexist or that I didn't understand the movie. (Not on here, just with people I know).

Are you seriously throwing shade at one of the greatest voice actors in the industry?

No. The angle is "Ruin Jonson killed the sequel trilogy". Which seems perfectly appropriate given the raging shower of human effluent he delivered with The Least Jedi.

"watch" is the key word there, sir. He can voice act like a mofo, but we don't have to look at his face when he does so.

oh.
yeah, that follows. You're not twisting his words or anything. But go off, I guess...

....and the quote about now there being time to milk a sea cow, but no time to show human emotion? Or are you going to gloss over that one because it doesn't fit your narrative?
The fact is, Mark Hamill has been sounding jaded and salty in pretty much every single one of his media appearances for the film, and has been taking not-so-veiled digs at the director on numerous occasions. And who can blame him? His character was assassinated, and the film's story was pure tripe.
That's all on the director.
Writer/director bro, he double dipped on being to blame.

old man no longer as optimistic as he was in his youth. Now grumpy and jaded about the state of things.
Luke's character development or a description of this thread?
Do you believe in the legend of Luke Skywalker or do you not believe in the legend of Luke Skywalker?
The legend of Luke Skywalker doesn't for a nano-second consider murdering his sleeping nephew.
This Johnson idiot obviously doesn't believe in the legend and such a man shouldn't have been given any part in care-taking our modern myths and legends.

Either that, or this Johnson idiot is a troll of epic proportions...

What's the difference?

Well, if he's an idiot the glaring horror show that was The Last Jedi could have been an accident. He might have been too stupid to see the discord it would cause, the inconsistencies, the plot holes. If he's a troll however, all that stuff would be deliberate.
But of course you're right, regardless of his motivations (or lack thereof) it makes no difference to the fans now. We're stuck with it.

There was nothing accidental in that movie. I don't think it was a troll though. When Luke threw the lightsaber away it felt much more like an outright expression of contempt. It is a subtle distinction though.

Agreed. When I watched TLJ for the second time I could get a better appreciation of what the movie was trying to do. But, it's not Luke's movie; it's Kylo Ren's.
And therein lies the mistake.

For ring theory reasons though, I think it's interesting that there's a third generation of Skywalker for this trilogy. It'll be interesting to see if Kylo has a transition to the light equal and opposite to Anakin's transition to the dark side in the last movie.

Lots of people have brought up points with some evidence, that Ms. Kennedy and LFL at the time of ep 7-8 actually have contempt for Luke, even one Rebels recon episode had a writers desk with a ROTJ pic of Luke with a big red X going over his head, and I dont thinks its because hes a Red Squadron X-Wing ace.
I actully prefer if Luke had been a Darksider, like in this movie, and that Kylo left because he was tired of being Knocked around by Luke.

Let the past die.
Kill it if you have to.
But what if it's already dead? Or even was just waking up(un-dying?)?
