List of Revealed Tyrants of Lothal Components

I haven't watched enough rebels to know what Lothal looks like, so I can't really comment on the aesthetics. From a gameplay perspective, though, I really like the new ones that they've shown here. As aermet69 said, the two tiles with the buildings (?) both give you a way to block (or at least slow down) the other side with a single figure. The ravine, with the diagonal blue spaces, could lead to some cool movement shenanigans as well.

You guys make a fair point that gameplay-wise, these do look interesting.

I was more speaking aesthetically.

Lothal looks more like this:

There are definitely some more deserty areas, like this...

But for the most part, the savannah is its defining and recognizable feature. It'd be like if a Hoth map was 70% rock instead of snow.

Yeah, looking at those photos I'd definitely agree that I'd expect to see a lot more grass

I noticed you missed CT-1701's Reload XP card btw.

I think you forgot to add Wildfires starting weapon and xp cards previewed?

Can someone clarify I understand this, the clone trooper's abilities gives a 2nd attack with one action, but applies a penalty of adding a defense die?

how is that not horrible? Garkhan, Biv, and Jyn gain an additional action to attack 3 times a round without a penalty. Biv and Jyn can extend that even more with abilities.

Gaarkhan spends 4XP for Brutal Cleave , Biv suffers 2 strain for Close and Personal , needs to be adjacent to the target and the attack must target the same figure (so is aborted if the target was defeated in the melee attack), Jyn must suffer 2 strain to activate Quick Draw , and imperial figure positioning can prevent it often.

Barrage seems to compare favorably by the same 2-strain cost, no XP cost, can target a different figure than the target, and combos with his other abilities, for example the starter weapon gives a damage power token if the target doesn't suffer damage. And we haven't yet seen his other class cards.

(Edit: Btw, what do you mean by gaining an additional action?)

Extra free attacks are never terrible. In skirmish he's got abilities and surges that benefit multiple shots. In campaign, there are several weapons that will make this awesome as well, not counting the abilities of your partners. Also in campaign, your usually facing subpar resistance, so it's easier to clear figures

right now my math says:
8 Death Troopers + 3 Loth Cats + 2 Rebel heroes + 7 Rebel allies + 4 villains = 24 deployment cards

Seems correct according to the latest previews. So no Boba update?

Wouldn't a Boba update be a skirmish attachment (i.e. not a deployment card).

Skirmish attachments are deployment cards.

Boba’s update could be in Hondo’s blister pack.

Yeah, I think the math has spoken for all deployment cards in the expansion box. The only hope for a Boba upgrade would be with Hondo, at this point.

But we have seen LIE IN AMBUSH. I don't see no "Boba Fett only" there.

Fair enough, didn't realise it would count

Remember when they released Greedo, Obiwan and Inq. It was totally out of the blue and unrelated to any box set. That's what I'm hoping for around Christmas, Zuckuss & 4-Lom w/ Boba fix, scout troopers and ewoks (since people want them)

Or Yoda instead of Ewoks, but yes, I hope so, too.

Yoda is the most iconic character that has not appeared yet, I think (more than Tarkin, Zuckuss and 4LOM).

A reinforcement wave of Tarkin, Yoda and 4-Lom & Zuckuss would be awesome.

Is anybody getting two copies of the new expansion? Does not seem like there is much in it to get two copies.

Your thoughts?

In our experience, there will be only one Elite Death Trooper card in the box. If you want to play two of them, you need a second box.

I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I still wonder... Will the "Maximum 2 regular +1 elite" rule apply to the Death Troopers? Or could you, theoretically, field half-a-dozen Death Troopers if you wanted to? Or, one regular Death Trooper and 4 elite Death Troopers, or whatever combination you wish? What I'm trying to ask is, how does "Full Detachment" sync with the basic limitations? (Since specific card abilities overrule general rules, I would think you could field Death Troopers in whatever combination you want, as long as: a) have at least 1 regular DT (for "Full Detachment"), b) can pay the cost, and c) and have the appropriate figures and cards?).

The box includes 4 Death Trooper miniatures and I'd guess 1 elite and 3 regulars cards or 2 elite and 2 regular cards. So that's the limit for campaign. Skirmish limit will be 2 elites and 4 regulars as always.

In the campaign you are (in the boxes this far) limited both by the number of figures in one box and one elite at the same time (since FFG started to include extra regular deployment cards).

Because Tactical Comms is once per round, I don't think you want to field a lot of them in the campaign. Why spend 3 threat when the rebels can take out the rest before they get to activate (single-figure groups are problematic in that).

Skirmish is a different thing, because each Death Trooper pair can be activated together.
