Just ran by my FLGS during lunch. Unfortunately they had Ascension sitting on the shelf. That meant that I was forced to by it.
The one thing I noticed of note is the inclusion of an optional/alternate/revised XP rank progression starting at rank 1 that brings the progression in line with RT.
Just ordered mine from FFG (came to my senses and canceled Amazon). Can't wait for it to arrive! My guys need to rank up faster! Though, we'll probably just make a cadre of new folks. All the same, really excited.
Does anyone know where I can get a fillable / savable PDF copy of the Ascension character sheet?
I am working on a normal high quality scan (not fillable) of the character sheet. Still some cleaning up to do. Should be done with it tomorrow once I have an hour to sit down and photoshop with it.

Put simply, they adjusted the XP/Rank table slightly. And by slightly, I mean my rank 5 Adept who is about 200 shy of rank 6 would now be mid-rank 6 by the new table... Rank 5 and 6 "level up" at 1,000XP less then Core; Rank 7 advances to 8 at the same XP; Rank 8 transitions to Rank 9 at 13,000 instead of the 15,000 XP it would be by Core. ShruG Not sure what I think of the changes yet.

They have evened out the rank advancements cost wise. As is stated in the book, starting around Rank 6 you progress slightly faster through the ranks. I haven't had a chance to compare the new chart to the rank advances listed in DH for strict numbers comparison but the ranks seem more consistently spaced at around 3 or 4,000 XP for upper DH characters before Ascension. It's just a smoother a progression over more ranks. There is also a statement with this info that basically says this is how the progression chart is going to be in all future 40K products.

A "slight" adjustement of 2000 XP? Now that is an understatement . And this progression will be the new canon for future products? Hhmmm, have to think this through before making a final judgement.

Well, in the grand scheme of things, 2,000 XP at those higher ranks really doesn't go that far. 
Trust me, in my character's case 400XP for Secret Tongues: Xenos (pick ONE) narrows the spread down when I want to be more scholarly.

Actually it does. While waiting for Ascension to drop, I started calculating hypothetical pre-ascension advance schemes for PC;s and NPC;s. ( I know. I need a life . ) 2K in the case of my own PC Tech-Priest could mean dropping two Stat advances, three Talents and 2-3 skill advances. So instead of directly qualifying for four Paragon Talents and two Mastered Skills, he will be eligible only for four out of six.
