I don't even know what this is... Rebel aces??

By Prawncake, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Poe Dameron — T-70 X-Wing 31
Veteran Instincts 1
R2-D2 4
Advanced Optics 2
Autothrusters 2
Black One 1
Ship Total: 41
Tycho Celchu — A-Wing 26
Expose 4
Chardaan Refit -2
Push the Limit 3
Autothrusters 2
A-Wing Test Pilot 0
Ship Total: 33
Fenn Rau (Sheathipede) — Sheathipede-class Shuttle 20
Veteran Instincts 1
Hotshot Co-pilot 4
Flight-Assist Astromech 1

Ship Total: 26

Was skrewing around with the idea of having high PS Rebel Aces who's main purpose is to try be right up in your opponents face as much as possible. The issue with this version is the lack of initiative bid (which i think needs to be at least 2) but I'm not sure what to chop off. I could remove the autothrusters from Tycho but in a turret heavy meta i kind of like it. The other variation i thought of was to replace Fenn with

Airen Cracken — Z-95 Headhunter19
Veteran Instincts 1
Cruise Missiles 3
Guidance Chips 0
Ship Total: 23

which gives a 3 point initiative bid (or 1pt if I bump Poe up to ps 9 version). Cracken feels a bit "meh", also because his ability is only range 1 which isn't really ideal for a list that is likely to be all over the place instead of flying as a squad. Any thoughts on this kind of list? Possibly a replacement for Fenn (tho i think Tycho really needs someone to hand him off more actions)?

Using an action for expose means you want to use the other for TL or focus, hopefully offensively, which is why you are action starved. expose could easily be replaced with Rage, Wired or VI. though I'm not sure what to do with those points. PS9 poe and 1 pt bid? Rage means you use the second action for evade or boost, and possibly have a focus for defense. Wired doesn't need an action, has a re-roll on defense and would be on all the time with Tycho, but Rage seems purpose built for tycho.

Rebel aces V2 [97]

Keyan Farlander (39)

B-Wing E2 (1)

Maul (3)

Elusiveness (2)

Sensor jammer (4) -------------------------------------

Jake Farrel (29)

Intensity (2)

Outmanuver (3)

Autothrusters (2)

Charrdan refit (-2)

A-wing test pilot (0) --------------------------------------

Ezra Bridger (25)

Gunner (5)

R3-A2 (2)

Veteran Insticts (1) -------------------------------------

So now you have three ships at PS 7, so they move and shoot in whatever order you want, most of your modifyers don't need tokens ( Jake has outmaneuver) so you pretty much neuter an enemy Fenn Rau. Both of your main ships are extremely hard to hit, and pack a suprising punch as well. The list leaves you with a three point bid, or you can throw some plasma torps or flechette torps on Keyan

Bro tip: Use Ezra to double/single stress ships with expertise so sensor jammer can do it's thing, also don't be afraid to leave ezra with a stress or two, his ability keeps him modified defensively, and gunner is a pseudo-target lock.

(Also I used the rebel Aces pack for this list, U C wut I did dere?)?

Expertise Wedge, VI Norra, Adaptability Jan. PS9. Norra and Wedge like to be in the thick of it as Jan hangs at R3 and pelts with TLT. I've written about this list a lot. It's way more dangerous than anyone thinks. :)

I think VI on Poe is overkill. He is already really high PS consider adaptability instead. Smaller bump in skill but its free.

Alternatively Hot Shot Copilot on Fenn seem to run counter to his skill. Basically you are forcing someone to use a token the theoretically they aren't able to use because of Fenn's ability... So your upgrade is basically working against you in situations where you are not swarmed. Since you seem to want to build aggressive consider Zeb. Just play bumper cars with Fenn, use it to keep the opponents jammed up so your X and A can have easy shots plus you still get to shoot too.

I love trying out new Rebel lists. However, this list has 2 of the 3 ships only rolling 2 red dice. Is there enough offensive firepower?

I have been using the triple-X build of Poe, Wedge and Wes at 99 point build with PS:10.

I have a cheaper AND more effective (imo) Tycho:

Test Pilot, Chardaan, Rage, Experimental Interface, Push the Limit.

Take action, Use Experimental Interface to Rage, Push the Limit to take 3rd Action.

PS8 Poe with VI is another point cheaper* for PS10.

*Compared to PS9 Poe with Adaptability

But then you've used up your EPT. So I suppose if you have nothing else to spend it on, fine.

Yes, there are other good options for the elite slot.

My above comment was solely pointing out that, for the same PS10 result, PS8Poe w/VI is a point cheaper than PS9Poe w/Adaptability. Very relevant to the post I was responding to as that one was making suggestions to reduce point costs.

And with the upcoming T-65 buff, now you have points to add hotshot copilot to Jan for extra token-stripping fun!

Going to be hard to weaponize with the HWK's dial since Hotshot is primary weapon, although you can still force the focus when attacked.

Good catch. Back to the drawing board!

I thought about it. but she really needs Nein Numb to be effective I think. also didn't catch the primary only. Not saying I won't experiment... I will, but SAW R2D2 on Norra sounds pretty evil too.

you don't use the ability on the same target you hot cop.
