So I know I’m a little late to the party. I want to get back into xwing after selling off everything over a year ago. With so much stuff out right now, what would be a good way to get back into playing? I’d like to start with a caouple squads that I’d be able to play with at local stores. Any and all feedback is appreciated, thanks!

as per usual: imp vets + core set (blue) + TIE/FO

Marek Steele (TIEx7, crackshot)

Omega Leader (juke, comm relay)

Zeta Leader (Wired, Weapon Guidance)

Epsilon Ace (nada)

it's not going to reliably best turrets, because nothing is, but it's very cheap and solid.

afterwards, you'll want to branch into the Silencer as it's very solid with autothrusters and gets you Advanced Optics which are pretty nifty on just about every First Order ship.

You're going to want to secure PTL and advanced sensors from somewhere, though (makes the silencer sing). then again, if your local group doesn't consist purely of stick-up-the-butts, you'll be able to proxy upgrade cards just fine

Other good standalones are the TIE Aggressor (TLT + lightweight frame) and the Striker (countdown + lightweight frame). The TIE defender pack sort of obviously pairs well with Imperial veterans

hopefully Saw's Renegades will allow me to recommend a cheap Rebel starting list with the Core Set (original) and Saw's, with possibly an Auzzie or Sheathe expansion (because they're just kinda too good). The U-wing is going to need A LOT to stack up to those two, but it'd be nice to be able to fly R2-D2 Luke + whatever X-wing + whatever U-wing

But the Auzzie does come prebuilt with Lowhrick, wookie commandoes and Selflessness...
