Two questions.
Why is the TIE Aggressor so expensive (on amazon) and seemingly unavailable EVERYWHERE?
and my ultra noob question of the day
Do opponents roll defense dice against secondary attacks?

FFG produces ships in waves, the TIE Aggressor is currently out of print, and sold out. It will return though. In the mean time people who have them mark them up through the roof to sell to people who want one right now. It also is one of the few ships that contains the much sought after Twin Laser Turret. Though you can get it on the K-Wing which is readily available.
Yes, you roll defense dice against secondary weapons, but you do not get the range bonus die for being ar range 3 (nor does the attacker get the range bonus die if a secondary weapons if fired at range 1) There are no defense dice rolled against bombs or other damaging effects though.
Best advice anyone can give you: Don't buy X-Wing through Amazon. Unlike nearly everything else in the world, it's one of the worst places to get it. In terms of prices, availability, shipping, everything lol
TIE Aggressor has three very handy upgrades: Twin Laser Turret, Lightweight Frame, and Intensity.

I'm not so sure about that. There certainly was a time Amazon's prices were generally higher than you could find elsewhere but right now anything that is below MSRP is almost "good" although that does mean knowing what that price number is to begin with.

Interesting, is there anywhere I can find a list of things currently in production?

Yeah I was looking to buy it for my second LWF and just for the sake of collecting all the imperial ships. Ive only been into the game for a month or so but Im loving it so muc, wish i had more poeple to play. I know there are game nights at almost any local game shop (of which there are many, I live in Socal) but i just cant get around to it.

This doesn't tell you what's in stores at the moment, they only keep that status on stuff for a week or two after release, but what's awaiting reprint, printing, or shipping will give you a good idea what might be hard to come by.
It's not worth buying anything at inflated prices though; they'll always be out again in 6 months or so at the very latest.
Probably every chance you’ll be able to find one in the near future.... my FLGS emailed me yesterday to say they have them back in and have put 2 aside for me.
So so I imagine they are likely to more readily available real soon.

Try to find the time. I only played a few friends for years. In the last few months I have started going to a weekly X-wing night. I really wish I had started going sooner. Playing with so many different people helps keep the game fresh, made me a much better player and playing more often has made me not feel as guilty for the amount of money I have spent on my collection. haha. The community is really inviting at stores from my experience and I'm sure they would love to have a new player as much as you'll enjoy getting to play more.
