I just want Dace+Ions to work.

I love the ion mechanic and love Dace Bonearm. I honestly just want him to work. I have two builds to incorporate both in to a list. I would like input on which list would perform better and why. I am also up for suggestions on how to change the list. Thanks!

List #1: really Latts is to help with the "PTL aces"

Maul on Dace makes zero sense. If he is stressed he can not do his ability.

You don't need tons of ion sources since his ability only procs once per round unless you somehow fenangle a trigger before he executes a green manuever. Only reliable way here is Conner net, and only Sol is any decent at farting those around

Maybe emon but he's real pricey

On the plus side, DEADEYE harpoon gchip Sol is also a **** good Boba Fett caddie

You don’t Maul a roll, you use him to clear the stress that Dace received for the Ion. Then if you have multiple Ion effects, Dace can use his ability twice a round.

Nice idea. With Palob, you shouldn't have too much trouble getting a focus token so the shot is still modified. Of course, Torkil will end up stressed when you trigger Dace's abiltiy, so won't be able to use his own Pulse Ray shield without ending up with ion and stress and having a bit of a freak-out.

It's certainly a nice list. Ion Dischargers/Pulse Ray Shield/Dace is a nice combination to make the range 1 blind spot of the turrets a pretty unpleasant place - pile into range 1, damage a HWK, then either watch its shields come back up for no downside, or take an ion token AND damage.

Alternate version with Khiraxz:

sub out one of the HWKs for

  • Captain Jostero
    • Vaksai
    • Deadeye
    • Ion Pulse Missile
    • Ion Discharger
    • Pulsed Ray Shield
    • Guidance Chips
    • Munitions Failsafe

Anyone getting tazed by an ion discharger potentially gets tagged by Dace and then shot by Jostero after that for good measure....

Nice call. Could do Predator/Torkil combo to get Dace 2 rerolls and then have Dengar on Torkil’s TLT’s for his rerolls.

I don't think Dace/Jostero was fully resolved. I know there was rules debate about it, and fairly contentious debate, and I think the best conclusion was that it needed to be officially clarified.

Anyhow, I kinda like the thought of this:

Dace (VI, Maul, Ion Turret, Vectored Thrusters) 34 points

Kavil (VI, Ion Turret, [choice of Astromech], Vectored Thrusters) 32 points + droid

[some sort of 3rd ship in the 31-33 points available, Thweek perhaps, or PTL Guri to take advantage of Ion positioning]

Note that I specifically said 'ion discharger' - that is definitely not 'whilst defending' so there is no question the combo works.

My thoughts. I like Dace, and his mechanic tequires that Ion token, so, he needs to have a way to provide his own triggers.
