I just bought another unit at my local store and once i opened it i was surprised to see that the commander is different in each box. I was wondering if anyone had a preference of which one they liked

The Unit Leader is the same in each version. The other rider is the one that's different.

Honestly, both look good. I'm just glad to have the variety - the guy firing over his shoulder looks cool but I don't really want half the bikers I field to be in the same dynamic pose. The expansion rider looks more rank-and-file.

It's the same with the AT-RT where the rider is a different sculpt. It's another reason to buy the expansions

From what i can tell the leader is sitting up more straight than the trooper

The pose is different. The new figure has one arm close to his body and the elbow bent tightly. He kind of looks like he starting to turn the bike.

Yes, you can see it, but for sure not "easily".

For that I painted their bed rolls different colors. Makes it easier to find the unit leader.
