warlocks quest, hidden?

By Fredrik Winde, in Talisman Rules Questions

If you play the alternet endings "hidden" (and it is the warlocks quest) what to do when the first player enters the coc? does he have to return and complete the 4 quest he is about to draw? or what happens in this case? happy.gif

Warlock Quest cannot be played as a hidden ending.

It has the reveal icon, and if you start the game, you must place it face up in the inner region

I shuffle the endings before we begin the game, then pick one, and place it in the inner region gran_risa.gif

HA,..... now I see the icon, I`v missed that one gran_risa.gif

We're playing it hidden happy.gif I read somewhere else on this forum someone did that as well and it adds a fun element of chance. If you get up there and you need to do more quests, then you had best hoof it down and start racking them up!

We also modify our Warlock Quests some as well. Almost everything below is our houserules, not official!

Everyone starts out with one quest, and all basic rules regarding quests apply. You must carry it out as soon as possible, if you have the obvious choice of finishing your quest and another option, you must finish your quest. As soon as you are done you get teleported to the Warlock's Cave and receive your Talisman. Subsequent quests you can receive a randomly picked Dungeon Treasure card.

You can acquire multiple quests at a time and finish them in any order. If all of the 'bank' Talisman are gone by the time you finally get around to finishing your quest then your first one results empty handed.

If you die then you loose your quests, they go to the discard pile, no inheriting quests! Your new character gets a new starter quest. Usually by the time someone is ready to tackle the Inner Region, they have tucked a couple of quests under their belt just in case ;) You can open the Portal of Power with unfinished quests ( I wonder how many people adhere to the official opposite rule? )

If we do a revealed Warlock ending then the Dungeon Treasure cards are totally ignored, and we follow the rules of the ending card pretty closely.

Since we have 5 endings and 2 are laminated printouts ( Danse Macabre & Crown of Command ) we do a random roll and high card wins.
