800pts Rebels List
I’m thinking for now 4 troopers minimum is a good staple for starter armies and the more the better.
Grappling hooks are great but, it’s all based on the terrain of your play space. Obviously if flat mat terrain with little to no buildings then you could cut the points. Great way to not needlessly die to your own dice if on a dense cityscape though.
The laser cannon probably limits you the most in the list and I would consider swapping them out for rotary cannons. A majority of your problems will be dealing with troopers and enemy Luke/Vader and those pesky unarmored speeders. Flamer is an excellent choice and will work wonders for you in all scenarios.
I personally would swap battle meditation with Jedi mind trick, Luke gets in close, and if you can suppress a full squad before shooting you, you’ll be able to better your Defense with their inability to do two actions.
Cut long range comlinks and try and squeeze in some more trooper add-ons and possibly a another heavy weapon.
Wow, so much for a first reply!
First of all : I am not afraid by the speeder. Speeders are stats around 4 touch (reroll include) for impact 2. This means they will do 2 hull points a turn to the at-rt. Don't get me wrong, they are strong, but as you said, they are unarmored. Regular Trooper can shoot the **** out of them, Luke easely cut them in half. Once one is down, modulo the scenario, there impact is greatly downed. Plus, I have enough blast attack, even if in range 1,for the cover 1 not being a problem.
Now, 2 lascan at-rt with lascan cost less than the basic at-rt, for 6 dices too (but better dices) and impact 6 (against impact 3).
Rotary blaster is nothing more to be done than what my troopers can't handle. Truly, the stats is the same. Yup, troopers die faster, but rotary blaster got so few good stats against so much thing...
Lascan allow me to answer turn one of there is no "reduce visibility" in the game, and are scary enough to put damage on an at-rt. And even if there is none, they are better at putting down a T-47 than the rotary blaster. And with it you can easely fire to pretty anything (perhaps a bit less strongly) that you will shot with the rotary blaster, while being better against armor.
Flamer, yeah. I will never go out without one.
Long rang com link and battle meditation are here to allow a more wide play style, as a lot of empire list got far less units and minis.
Jedi mind trick is... Strange for me. Against Vader it's pretty ineffective, and against Luke, it does not put enough to cut an action from activation (If I understood correctly). I will consider it later in the game evolution.
For grappling hooks, I prefer to go with them. Firstly because it is fluff with my army (there are hive city fighters) and also because in the case I'll face an opponent on climbable scenery, this will greatly put me in an advantage for objective.
But don't worry. I take account of your réflexion if my own does not work. TBH I never play 800pts, it's only my "other wargames experiences" which are talking here. I know there is a lot of testing to be done, and perhaps I'll revise my judgment on rotary blaster soon (got a tournament 28th April)
Thanks for replied, tho
Yeah no problem, coming from a 40k background I like to keep my forces organized for their task at hands. Just remember to play the objective, and good luck in your tournament.

Tabletop Admiral (not sure why it's admiral since it is for Imperial Assault, Runewars, & Legion)
