Imperial Heavy TIE Fighter

By Dethmarch666, in X-Wing

Hasbro is releasing a card game for the new SOLO movie, which I assume is a Sabacc style game I hope. In this new pic of the contents are various things from the movie. IF you look at the top green card, it states that the new Heavy TIE variant. It also shows a new capital ship and scout walker variant!! Can't wait too see all these new ships in all of FFG's games!!

A SOLO wave has at least 2 Imperial ships, those being the Heavy TIE Fighter (TIE/hv from here on) and the Imperial AT-Hauler.

A "Good" idea for the TIE/hv would be giving it +1 shield and hull over the regular TIE in addition to the cannon slot, then adjust the price accordingly.

A new cannon that could come with the TIE/hv would be a "Dual Laser Cannon". No clue how it would work though.

A possible title or pilot ability for the TIE/hv would allow it to take a second cannon upgrade.

NOT UNTIL I GET MY RZ-2 AWING!!!

seriously tho... where is my A-wing. The heavy tie w/cannon slot could be really cool. oh wait, it's a light tie defender?

A Tie with a Cannon Slot is definitely not a defender.

My bet would be it has a pt limit on the cannon slot. I shudder to think that they would allow 4 HLC tie fighters on the table.

A TIE fighter with a cannon is actually an Interceptor

Of the m3-a variety

That Imperial Arrestor Cruiser (aka Concept Star Destroyer) is absolutely hideous!! I'm so glad it was just a concept drawing. Not anymore though!

I already got the hotwheels ship for it. it's hilarious how ugly it is.

It's almost hilarious how ugly 90% of the Disney Star Wars ships are. Almost.

They think they can please the fans by digging up every unused scrap of work by Ralph McQuarrie, Joe Johnston, et al. The problem is, those designs were passed over for a reason.

Amen. Concept art can be reused from time to time, but it should be the exception, not the rule, to do so.

Uh, they already allow that.

HLC heavy scyks come in at 23 points base and have the stat line (if not dial) of a TIE/fo.

You can absolutely field four of those (including Sunny of course) and have the points to make one Serissu for extra defense.

Hmmm.. Heavy TIE Fighter? Can we get a title that works with the regular TIE Fighters too?

I want a dual laser cannon to be the in arc version of TLT, just so we can fly Dash around with a TLT instead of HLC. Good times...

Not to mention the 4 die primary TIE Phantom. I’m wondering if Scyks vs Phantoms would be interesting to watch, glass cannon vs glass cannon.

Tie striker have cannon too but we don't have it so...

I expect to see a 3/3/3/0 Heavy tie fighter with the same cost of a Tie/Fo with focus/evade/barrel roll actions and slow mouvements.

Just give it a bullseye arc instead of a cannon slot.

(and an extra Hull point)

If this new TIE doesn’t come with an asymmetric dial with white sloop, then that’s confirmation of Rebel Scum bias.

What he said, its very nasty light swarm.

Also the Arrestor is the worst starship I've ever seen make it into a movie haha.

In exchange it will have red banks on the other side... (Yes, I'll take that happily)

Yeah, if they do that, TIE Mk 2 Engines will be stapled to every card of this new TIE.

3, 3, 4, 0

Focus, TL, Evade, Roll

Cannon slot

14 points

14pts with a **** dial, maybe.

Otherwise welcome to the powercreep. Lowest Ps skill Scyk with cannon slot is

2,3,3,1 Cannon slot.

16pts. And that's only a 2dice primary, the proposal above has 3.

Or compare to the vanilla TIE at 12pts. For 2pts

a hull point

a cannon slot

an additional attack die (just look what Finn crew costs)

Seriously?

No. I'm just really bored :P

Then it's not taking Lightweight Frame, so...

(like this thing will have better than 2 AGI now that LWF exists)

My best guess is 2/2/4/1, cannon slot, something like 18 points for a generic, maybe 20 so you can't get four with Mangler and LWF. Despite that being... you know, fine. If they're feeling super generous, 16 points, so you can get 5 with Mangler but not LWF.

And I'd love to see a proper asymmetrical dial (i.e. actively bad on one side), but I doubt that FFG will repeat that particular experiment. Plus, it never really made sense because... well, you know, space. Flying upside down is possible.

I predict basically a Tie S/F in every way but a few.

2/2/3/3

Same dial, but asymmetic. Red on one side, white on the other. No tech slot. No systems slot. Cannon instead of missile slot. A point cheaper than the SF. Starts at 22 points instead of 23.
