Are you prepared to allow Asajj + a whole bunch of other possibilities to happen? Shadowcasters don't NEED their second illicit slot.

I sounds like a great idea for a one-off tournament for funsies but I don't want it in the official game.

I like the notion of being able to “hire” Scum ships, but I do fear the unintended combos that could come about. Ventress tanking up to run interference for the likes of Dash sounds icky.

If someone uses Boba crew to remove your "Hired Gun" illicit, what would happen? Does that mean because it's a scum ship in a Rebel or Imperial lineup, it all-of-a-sudden can't be a part of your list in the middle of combat? There's an argument to be made for it.

But if you include the text similar to Thweek's condition, you avoid the conflict altogether.

So maybe add “This card can not be discarded.” At the end of the text?

I think the precedent of Ezra/Maul and R2-D6 could have an answer. Maul isn't discarded it Ezra (whether crew or pilot) is removed. Nor is the EPT R2-D6 provides if he's used to absorb a hit via Integrated Astromech.

Why even have a card? Just house rule it.

Keep crew a certain upgrades faction specific. No Imperials or rebels on S&V ships. Limit it to one unique pilot. IIRC there was a post awhile back about a tournament that allowed one scum for hire if you were flying rebels or imps. Can't remember if there was a point cost limit or any other restrictions.

I do see the bones for a really fun scenario based tourney here. Bring two lists. One list must be Rebel and have either Han Solo or Luke Skywalker as it's only unique pilots or crew. The other list contains only pilots from the Bounty Hunter scene in ESB. Must have Darth and take your pick of IG, Zuckuss, 4-Lom, Dengar and Bossk. Might need some bonuses to keep it from being a Han Vs Dengar turret fest. Maybe just hand out free autothrusters to everyone else.

Seems fun, but maybe also a problem in terms of balance.

What I'd like to do is add a Bounty Hunter faction. Just a lot of new cards and dials for existing ships. Basically, they would only have one or two pilots for each ship - Boba, Dengar, 4-LOM, Zuckuss, IG-88s, Ketsu, etc. And they'd be rebalanced where needed.

And then a single bounty hunter ship could be included in any list by any faction.
