A Krennic Style Piece For The Rebels? (Or Imperial/Scum for Fun)

By GILLIES291, in X-Wing

So while there are many different opinions on what is currently the strongest ships out there, we can generally agree on what ships are the weakest. With the introduction of Krennic being a great way to boost up an entire sub-faction and hopefully bringing back the Interceptors, Advanceds, Prototypes, Phantoms and Bombers of old I thought it would be cool to brainstorm a similar boost for the Rebel classic ships from the early waves which have been far left behind and outclassed.

By my modest and unprofessional assessment it seems like the current rear of the pack is the following:

E-Wings

A-Wings

Z-95s

X-Wings

U-wing (but sorry U-wing this thread isn't for you)

So here is the piece I would like to see:

Garm Bel Iblis/Admiral Ackbar/Mon Mothma

REBEL ONLY.

During set up, before the "Place Forces" step, assign the "Spark of Rebellion" Condition to a friendly Rebel Alliance ship with 3 or fewer hull.

Spark of Rebellion

Increase your hull value by 1.

Once per round, when you would receive 2 or more damage cards, reduce the number of damage cards received by 1 to a minimum of 1.

This would help the A, X, And B wings as well as Z-95, Attack Shuttle, and TIE Fighter. All of which could use the help. So thoughts on this? Is something along these lines what others would like to see and an easy way to bring our old friends back to the table?

I would also love to see an Imperial/Rebel commander that reduced the cost of allied ships like the TIE Fighter and A-Wing respectively to bring back the swarms.

Z-95s are brillant ordnance carriers for their price.

X-wing g is getting its fix soon.

A-wings, good cheap blockers that can be a pain to get down.

But have you seen them performing anywhere even close to well anywhere?

krennic is a weird "fix" has while he buffs ships he also doesn't really allow "point fortress" that makes stuff like Miranda just that...whole lot more irritating, as he spreads points out across his ship and whichever crew bearing ship he's on

unless, obviously, he buffs his own crew bearing ship (ie reaper)

but I don't think I'd mind him in rebels (provided he has the SAME targeting conditions i.e Rebel Alliance ship with 3 or less shields, because if he gets slapped on fat turrets including miranda he'd just be no bueno for the game )

not sure what his rebel counterpart (oh god, it's Galen Erso and he'd apply a "Stolen Imperial Plans" condition) would be or what benefit they'd provide, but if it's just Krennic as is with red paint then I could see him turning a fixed Luke Skywalker into a real threat

not sure about ARCs, as much as I would love any buff to them, as Norra is probably getting more out of c3po than she would out of krennic

Galen is a great idea, imagine Stolen Plans condition being "at the start of the skirmish assign this condition to one enemy ship that has 2 or more Shields, whenever you deal damage cards to this ship, flip one face up"

Would really help out swarms and aces.

I'd rather have "when defending, the attacker may change one HIT result to a CRIT result.

When you would be dealt a face-up damage card as the result of an attack, instead draw 3 Damage cards. Your opponent choses 1 to deal and discards the others."

so marek steele against a ship. gotta land that perfect shot

Yes in lots of local games. Mind we play all kinds of lists and not just current broken meta combos.

That's fair they occasionally get broken out in epics for us but rare sights for tournaments I've been too

Or, you know, a Phantom.

Nah, I'd rather have Kallus' or captive on the phantom
