Trust me, moving a cloud of TIEs doesn't take that long. Going back and forth is really all that slows it down. Once your opponent is out of Squadron activations, the rest of yours are a breeze. Having a distance 1 range tool helps speed things up if you're really going for perfect positioning.

The question is what you're trying to do. With FCs and Howlrunner, 5 dice TIEs hit that magical point where they can trade up against most things (barring, yes, Interceptors, which are a pretty rare sight.) Sure, they'll still die left and right, and you can't bring them into flak (barring Stronghold/good obstacle use,) but if you can earn those points back you're golden.
