I have decided I probably will do some head and arm swaps within each second unit of the core, but probably not much more than that.
How much converting do you plan on doing?
None to my core set stuff. But as I purchase expansions of troopers I may start to tweak them to avoid to ma y of the same thing
I am going to be converting / swapping heads to create an all alien squad. I am using WotC and Imperial Assault miniatures to convert my squad. I found a Bith (Cantina Band) a Mon Calamari, a Gran and possibly a Quarren through WotC. I am going to use Greedo, an Ithorian (I will be using a WotC miniature for the feet) from the Bespin Gambit set and possibly a Gamorrean from the Jabba's Realm set.
Honestly I want to use the two Bandai T-47 speeders instead of the two FFG T-47 speeders I bought. They are a bit bigger but they are so much more detailed. I was planning on trimming the acrylic stand so that they sit at the same height. I found it strange that both the AT-ST and T-47 from Bandai are both 1:48 scale but the FFG AT-ST is noticeably larger and the FFG T-47 is noticeably smaller. So which scale is wrong? The FFG AT-ST wins in my book but I prefer the Bandai T-47. Sorry FFG, I love ya to death but I gotta be honest. ![]()
None. I actually kind of wish there was less pose variety for Stormtroopers. They could use a touch more uniformity.
That would look amazing!

Very cool. I created a custom Imperial Assault mission based off of that novel.
Minor bits to start with. Did a small mod on the ATRT so the rider is slightly reclining as the miniature pose just looks so relaxed. Will be adding magnets to a few things and just started adding a missile being fired from the stormtrooper missile launcher guy. Waiting for some green stuff to arrive to add the smoke and blast! Will be doing some head and arm swaps and converting new heads in the future. Also have a stormtrooper banner bearer with cape in mind too.
So far, only a couple head swaps, and I've added a rear rack to an AT-ST to hold some stowage.
Trooper arm swaps so far.
I've done a little already to make my Stormtroopers more unique and made an Inquisitor. I have something planned once Veers is released.
It's well beyond my skill, but I'm hoping someone converts Luke to have a Yoda backpack.

Zero, personally.
I'm actually taking 2 sets of core storm troopers, and placing the poses together to get some uniformity from people. So green squad might be the sarge, all the running Stormies, and a DLT 19. Blue squad all the aiming Stormies. And so on.
Edited by HawktelConverting or otherwise, I'm having trouble painting the visor without making mistakes. Everything else is easy to paint.

Thin paint (thinner than usual, wipe it off the brush to avoid pooling) and a good brush of the sizes 0, 00, or 000 (though that is pushing it on reservoir size) that holds its point make your life much easier. It took me a long time to learn the right paint consistency and how to utilize it.
Magnetised weapons on 3 ATRT's.
I plan so much things, but I have so few time:
- Swap arms between troopers. --> Done.
- Sculpt bases. --> Done.
- Replace heads. --> Package lost, order some new alien heads.
- Sculpt Calamari arms. --> On going.
- Replace weapons. --> Waiting for ordered bits.
Going to do something with a spare Luke.... cannot stand the current model...
jumpsuit and helmet will make all the difference to me.
Did I read that Veers will have a rifle but the model actually comes with him pulling a pistol?
Think something needs to be done with that.....![]()
Hi! Just started. Not painting yet. But having a skirmish game with 5 identical squads bugged me. So: I present you 35 different troopers. All troopers cut above the belt and interchanged. All officer arms repositioned. In the picture each column has identical legs, each row is a squad and each combination of body and legs is unique. Now for the rebels!
Has anyone put Luke's head on a storm trooper yet? Or, it would be cool to put Han's head on a stormtrooper.

Putting Luke's head on a stormtrooper might be cheating, he wouldn't be tall enough.
