It's Ichtaca from the preview who confuses me. If you use the ability and succeed, it says you convince her you're not an enemy and place a clue on her. But she doesn't become aloof or go away, as far as I can tell, so it looks like she's still engaged with you and would attack. As of now, I don't see the point of that ability - unless of course the scenario rules cover her specifically, and maybe define what 'convince her you're not an enemy' means.

The Act card is going to say something like Objective: When there are ??? clues on Ichtaca, advance. Okay its possible that its just one way to advance and killing her is a second and there may be an unrelated third.

Things like this are very common in the game. Miskatonic Museum has a lot of cards that interlock to handle the big bad. There are many cards that kick in to explain what happens in Undimensioned and Unseen.

"Convince her you're not an enemy" is just flavor text, just like "convince Peter to follow you" or "shake Dr. Morgan out of his daze." There's going to be another encounter card (probably in the Act deck) that triggers off of Ithaca having a certain number of clues.

EDIT: Whoops, didn't see the page break.

Cheapmate, that has yet to be seen.

She (looks like a she to me) also has a new Enemy Keyword: Alert. Guesses?

My guess is that she readies at the start of the Enemy Phase.

That's also in the article. She hits you if you fail to evade.

The Forgotten Age increases the peril you find yourself in with the new Alert keyword. Alert enemies like Ichtaca ( The Forgotten Age , 52) strike with the speed of a viper. Each time you fail a skill test while attempting to evade them, the Alert enemy performs an attack against you, and to make matters worse, they don't become exhausted following the attack!“
