Movement and obstacles

By badgerclaw171, in X-Wing Rules Questions

I Watched what a few videos on YouTube on games and it seems they play it Where if the movement template Just misses the obstacle and the Base does not land on it That you did not hit the obstacle.

But when I play the game someone said the even though the movement template did not touch your base sliding along it would have is that true. Is does that count as hitting the obstacle. Since the bases are wider than the movement template.

No, you only count as hit if the template goes over the obstacle, or if after the maneuver, your ship is on the rock at all

Thank you that's what I thought too But someone said that it doesn't work that way That you'd have to consider the base with as well.

If that someone wants further proof, point them to Page 25 of the Official FAQ:

Q: When a ship executes a maneuver, is the entire width of the ship considered to be moving along the maneuver template and possibly hitting obstacles?

A: No. Only the maneuver template itself and the final position of the ship are considered when determining if a ship hit an obstacle.
