Probably obvious but lets say its the end of the round and Fushicho is leaving play. It adds a character from the discard pile with 1 fate on it. Would that characteer then lose 1 fate because all characters at the end of the round lose 1 fate? or is it that the character arrives after the fate removal has occurred.

I was just wondering whether it would be better to kill it off mid round as like Goblin Sneak or the Keepers the extra fate is so that the card is not here and almost immediately gone. Then I wondered what would happen at end of round if it was not 'removed'

Rules Reference Guide, page 20. Step 4.2 is 'Discard Characters with no Fate', and step 4.3 is 'Remove Fate from Characters'.
