A few basic questions

By Quatapus, in Imperial Assault Skirmish

I'm quite new to IA and especially Skirmish play, and I have some questions that I can't find answers to. I'd love it if you could help me out, and if possible, show me where to find the answers in the future.

  1. I have seen references to "shooting doors" before, but I can't find anything outside of the Campaign missions that state a health/defense for doors. Also, if the doors aren't "shootable" are they just opened with 1 action?
  2. Power Tokens: what are they and how are they used? If I have a Surge Token, can I add it to my attack for an additional Surge?

Thanks!

Chris

1. Doors are not shootable unless stated as such on the mission card (like on the New Ownership mission for Jabba's Palace). In those cases the health and defense states will be specified. Otherwise doors can be opened by using an interact action.

2. The rules for power tokens are included in the Heart of the Empire expansion (where they are introduced). Basically, certain abilities can give figures power tokens of different types (damage, surge, block, evade). A figure keeps these tokens round to round until used (can only hold a max of 2). You may spend a power token when declaring an attack/when an attack is declared against you. If you do so, you add the relevant result to your attack/defense results (i.e. a surge token adds a surge result).

When mission rules say doors are locked they will tell you how to open them. otherwise they just need an interact.

When declaring attack you may spend a token. Before rolling dice strictly. Its symbol gets added to the results. then discard it, even if you didn't need the symbol.

Everything is in the rrg. you see where to search on its back.

You may sometimes need to check an expansion's rulebook for power tokens for example. However I think any product containing things what aren't in the core box will have a mini rulebook about using them.

Thanks for the info! More questions to come, I'm sure.
