Official Solo Trailer! [Not Teaser]

yet another action movie that youths like so well in the opinion of filmmakers? this one just in space, thats all. yeah, I expect some funny dialogue, and its there, but I could so do without those action trailers, simply not teased by boom and bang.

well, starting off that it's still star wars , so boom and bang is space is really an obvious expectation from the title when people see it.

But also, we have this really beloved smuggler that is a really good pilot and we see him in fights against imperials as the movies go on. A background story about him without smuggling action and fights against imperials a bit just really doesn't show the character that we see later on chronologically, they need to make a new story that shows an unseen aspect of him while also showing traits that he is the same person with the same thought process and mind that we see in the OT, and if it's not an action movie, it'll fail to grip the action that much, because we won't feel like it's Han's life without things going wrong and some unexpected action happening

and here I am, thinking that bluffing / grandstanding / outwitting / charming / cheating his way out is much more appealing, and no less thematic.

yeah, and occasionally shooting as well. I know its a trailer, and they think they have to pack it with action (no doubt with a lot of stormtroopers missing anyway) to make people awwwww, and admittedly also because other things dont lend itself so well to two minutes of trailer, but I dread the movie you envisage if it has to be extra action to do Han justice. Course thats totally not personal, its just me that could do without. Well made Starfighter action (not the ridiculous..ops, again...Poe type) is something I enjoy, but the constant shootings and explosions and fights on the ground, not at all. Just preference.

Hype is the path to the Dark Side, Hype leads to expectations, expectatons lead to anger, anger leads to hate, hate leads to suffering.

looks good. will go see it when it comes out.

I love this Geressen, can I steal it and quote that I got it off these boards? Cause that's a perfect response :)

The last person I confessed my love to turned out to be into women aswell sadly neither my preferences nor theirs or my gender is likely to change in the future, I'm sorry.

yes/no, you could steal it, eleboration below.

yes,you can quote it off here though I won't mind if you do not even mention where you got it, since I am unsure wether I am being original.

And finally; it is nice to get good reviews on internet humour.

We'll see. Biggest issue I have so far is that the main character doesn't remind me of Han Solo. Which is a problem when the movie is called "Han Solo". But maybe in the full movie it's not so bad as I fear.

I hope the movie adds something to the star wars universe at least, like an actual fleshed out Corellian sector.

I'm still going to wait off til some reviews are out before i commit to seeing it. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

I just hope that Ron Howard made a call to George Lucas for tips and ideas. I have really low expectations for this. I will admit that my expectations were low for Rogue One as well and I was pleasantly surprised, so I am going to the theater with an open mind.

He did. George Lucas was actually on set and supposedly directed a single moment of the film.

Looks like a soft drink commercial

I don’t think that’s how the quote goes. Isn’t it “Fool me once, shame on you, fool me, you can’t fool me again.”...? I think it’s an old saying from Tennessee.

debatable point.... it appears to have routes to a phrase from the Iliad ... so yeah very old saying

but I've always know it as fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.

Solo is made by a different crew then the Last Jedi, sure there is some carry over but it is a seperate movie.

Sorry, a play on our former President...

I really don’t understand Star Wars fans. It seems they do nothing but complain about the movies and yet they stick around. I got tired of waking dead sucking so I stopped watching. Just go away if you don’t like it anymore.

I think we are in the greatest period of star wars fandom. We are getting a Star Wars movie every year and even a television series. Also is there a way I can block people on the forums? It seems it’s the same five or ten guys that cry about Disney and how they’re wrecking their childhoods. I’d really like to avoid their whining.
