Conceptually, these are kind of neat. The only thing that's bugging me is how flat everything looks, since you're still in the progress stages of painting. Depending on how final detailing goes, this could go from looking sort of weird to looking really bang-on.

Thanks, yeah they still need dry brush and wash but I like to do batch painting and do about the same work on my army as a whole I'll post everything again once the squads are done.
Edit: I posted a picture of the leaders with a wash and two troopers without the wash for camparison. They look a lot more stormtroopery now.

I know it's goofy and donald
but first thing I thought of was mermaid man and barnacle boy lol
not sure of your source material but you may have to give the goofy ones a different blue for the pants to make them look less like aqua man.
I absolutely love this idea though. keep up the stellar work!
*quack*
The best part is, they are sooo ugly it's good.
Just lost an eye
Winnie the pooh troopers now added!

But the cost...
So expensive and time intensive just so you can have a bit of a laugh.

It isn't that expensive(to me) and I enjoy the game play, why live if not to enjoy it? I've painted serious armies for 40k and I wanted a fun theme army.
I just don't get it. To each their own I guess.
I'll be honest, I don't even think I'd play against it.

Id play against it, but if I had been looking forward to a Star Wars battle that evening after work...id end up finding out I was in a game I couldnt immerse myself in at all and for me it would spoil it and would be disappointing my Rebel forces, instead of fighting vs the evil empire, struggling for survival...they would be up against a jokey force painted like donald duck....taking away all the thematic value of Star Wars Legion and the superb setting of Star Wars.
I want to play Star Wars.
Well, maybe you could think of it like your army is there to get rid of this band of jokers that are thumbing their nose at the Emperor (if you're an Imp player).
Or if you're a Rebel player, you could imagine that these Imperials are too dangerous, having become cultist and it is up to your forces to stop them before their numbers grow larger.
Adding some flavor to help you swallow a paint scheme that doesn't quite agree with your sensibilities would be a good thing. It could be the best game you'd have all month.
I dunno, maybe I just can't turn down playing a game I enjoy.
Might as well just line up my daughters My Little Pony toys and play against those.
Ok, this thread is definitely not bringing out the best in me. I'm out.

In the grand scheme of things... we and your daughter are both spending time and money on some escapism in a fictional universe we enjoy with characters we like. It really ain't all that different. I get not digging someone else's paint job, and I can kinda get not being the most thrilled to play against a non-thematic paint job. But the enthusiasm makes up for it, for me. I'd rather get the chance to ogle a random, weird, unique paint job that the creator is obviously super into than see the umpteenth vanilla Stormie squad, rad as the paint job may be. And I say this as someone who has and WILL post pics of his own, umpteenth vanilla, attempt at screen accuracy paint job. There's enough stuff out there to let me lean into someone else's alt art attempt!
And not for nothing... but the chance to murder a bunch of My Little Pony toys sounds like an incredibly satisfying way to spend some time.

A lot of fantastic points, if you want canon paint jobs you pretty much with stormtroopers have your color choice of White with black, Black with MORE black, Camo with black, I'm going to see enough of that playing the game already. I've done my share of 'serious' paint jobs from 40k and repaints from x-wing (including a scene accurate Biggs exploding) and I wanted to something colorful and fun but still thematic (pretty sure i had disney on the brain after my first time at Disneyworld with my fiance as an anniversary gift so that might have leaked into my subconscious).
(Someone did make a MLP space marine army its pretty crazy)
These are awesome, it’s good to see people getting creative with paint jobs. Not sure why you’re getting a lot of hate, or people saying they wouldn’t play against it. Keep on with it! It’s awesome!

agreed. My personal rule is that I won't play against unpainted armies. (Can't stand to face people that put no effort into their forces) Although, with armies like this, I'd love playing against them. I'm excited to see how he handles his AT-STs.

Surely, you mean Bambo
@Oberron Can I ask how you intend to paint Veera and the Snowtroopers?

I want to see a completely normal veers, but with a black helmet with two greenstuffed micky-mouse ears.

Veers is going to be minimouse since he kinda looks like he is wearing a dress. I'm undecided if I want to pick any snow troopers up yet.

Snowtroopers could be various Disney Princess squads.
