The Eclipse Class
Pretty good representation of the Eclipse-Class in all her glory, i will admit, rebel though i am.
Id love to see a decent Eclipse in game- probably more than Executor actually.

As a rebel officer, this is the only Eclipse design i will allow.

Nah super laser alone would make the game unfun
If I don't get this in Armada I'm gonna cry. In between Wave 10 and Wave 11 we need the Eclipse.

I don’t get the appeal.
Wonderful LEGO model work bringing a hideous design to life. I’m serious about the modeling though. I love seeing giant detailed LEGO designs.
But man, in a fictional universe filled about 80% with starship designs that can be described as “triangle” or “marital aid,” this one is a special level of ugly to me. I had forgotten about it until this thread.

Agreed, I've never been a fan of the Eclipse .
Which is to say nothing of the skill of the builder of this particular model, btw, which is fantastic.

There would have to be some strict rules for it-if it were to be included at all - and very toned down for balance purposes, eg: thin straight line fire arc/2 auto damage/1 or 2 uses per game.
That being said, it might be better to just ignore this feature & just have a normal battery.

Throw in Emperor Palpatine as Admiral. I can see it now "At the end of each round, roll a red die for Emperor Palpatine. On a double hit result, he loses control, creates a force storm and destroys his own flagship."

No, really... I don't get the appeal of it... Is it its radical departure from standard design? Is it its overclassed superlaser? Did it do something awesome in an EU book I'm unaware of? Is it its depiction in Comics?
Really. I just don't understand where the popularity comes from, and I\m just trying to understand it.
Some of the images in Dark Empire seem quite elegant to me. And the close ups of the bridge have this asymmetry about it that’s kinda cool.
I don’t actually think the superlaser is directly mentioned at all in DE. I think that comes from other sources.
The Eclipse was a set piece in Empire At War Forces of Corruption, and then briefly used at the end of the level to obtain victory.
Very balanced, and nice Objective to fight over.
