Just a pair of those painted fairly well, so i thought they were worth sharing:

Painted with a mid grey basecoat,

then the blue/red, black detailing,

a drybrush with the same mid grey,

semi tranlucent black wash,

cockpit window and engine glow,

touch ups

I loved painting my pair. So much more forgiving than fragile TIEs and featureless X-Wings.

True - of all the fighters x wings are in my opinion the worst to paint

I so agree. I actually had used a thick acrylic paint to add the nose cone on my X-wings. They just looked wrong without it.

Also the IIRC not so much existent cockpit canopys
