Flogging 'round the Fleet: AKA the flotilla walk of shame

The joke is actually that the FAQ changes will make fish farm better. One of the reasons it stacked that many flotillas was because it needed to out activate fleets to win. Now you can run MC80+CR90A+2xGR75 or MC80+2xCR90A+2xGR75.

In fact, I would say fish farm is going to come out of this FAQ even better, since the two biggest damage spikes in the game, BTA and yavaris, both received nerfs. It's now possible to drop a defensive or go to a MC75 for more points.

To be fair, I don't see it, as there are many other fleet combinations that can have the same (or higher) number of activations now.

Zero. I only have one of each flotilla.

None!

I'm not even up to the limit on GR-75s yet :)

I have 3 of each, but I'm okay with this ruling. People in my local group don't all have 2 so players are often borrowing them. And they're still usable in casual games.

No harm no foul.

I think it comes out roughly even. Part of what made the list so good was that killing the 80 Was dangerous and hard. Killing the Flotillas could take too many attacks and netted you maybe even on objectives so it left you disadvantaged. 90s succumb to fighters and torpedo boats more readily, and are worth enough points to try to kill.

I'll be retiring 1 Gozanti and 1/2 a GR-75 (one of the two models peg broke).

I also have half a GR! Another one, too, but I'm glad someone else understands my broken heart. Slash GR peg.

Also if Fish Farm runs 2 CR90s and 2 flots, good. Easy enough to kill it that way. Unrelatedly, what's the world's penalty if I smash a ship after I kill it? Like literally, with a hammer? Does it change if I pay him back in cash immediately or give him my own MC80? Asking for a friend....

... I can still buy another Gozanti.

Probably get one cheap now.

I have to return my mate’s GR that I borrowed eight months ago.

He will be glad.

I only buy 2 of small/mediums and 1 of large stuff now. Thank goodness.

Were Flotillia's really that overly used in the game, I never got a chance to play because my local store doesnt actually have an armada community. But I do like the ships so I just collect them on a shelf.

I don't look at it so much as having too many flotillas.

Rather, I have enough flotillas to share with new players who join the group!

Whew! Due to budget limits I only have one Gozanti. Now I might have to hit up the local Armada players and see if I can snag any redundant flotillas from them for cheap. Hmm... ^_^

It was common to see 3, 4 or 5. Depending on the list.

Hmmm. I have 3 of each.

2 of each.

I'm happy about the changes but don’t like that FFG had to burn $80 of my hard earned money to do it. That could’ve been another MC-75 and some additional squadrons. It’s one thing to have the meta shift and another to just invalidate a bunch of purchases.

2 of each. Just bought the gozantis a few months ago for IF Cymoon/BTA+4. Oh well! I know some new players who'll need them sooner than later, plus now I don't need to worry about buying up more alt-art gozanti's.

I wonder how likely the cap is to stick. On the one hand I'm ok with it and like the idea of having 4 Gozanti models in my debris fields. On the other hand I'll be absolutely pissed if they make me waste $40 by rolling it back.

I would wait until a few months after Worlds before modding them into space junk. I could see them lifting up the hard cap to 3 if the results indicate a overnerf. But i have to say i really like it at 2.

Only ever bought one of each, as I wanted my Reb/Imp fleets to look more numerous on the table, but I felt they would be too much in my home games if there were more than that on the table, and they don't even see use in every game.

With the new tournament rules changes, I would like people to respond to this thread to list the amount (by faction if you like) of flotillas that they own that they can no longer field in a tournament list.

I've lost 2 Gozantis, after nearly a year of faithful service. They traveled across the country, won me a Store Champ, earned me two sets of swirly dice and in some ways paid for my core set of Legion. I'm sad to see them go.

But not as sad as the day I buckled and bought the 4th one.

Same thing. I'm sad about my 3rd Transport now. But not nearly as sad or mad as I was buying my 3rd each Goz and Transport

and people constantly screaming git gud and use the new abusive crap +3 +4 fleets

I'm noticing also the only people who aren't on board with this change which most people seem to agree is great for the health of the game are those people who refuse to ever even note that squadrons are so much more prolific/winning than they need to be.

(And of course the people who are not happy about their extra flotillas being rendered useless)

Well, I have 2 each of Gozatti and GR75. I guess the good news is that I don't have to buy an additional one of each now. :)

That's a good place to be. I bought two of each. Wished I had never needed to buy 3 of each.
