Flogging 'round the Fleet: AKA the flotilla walk of shame

By Eggzavier, in Star Wars: Armada

With the new tournament rules changes, I would like people to respond to this thread to list the amount (by faction if you like) of flotillas that they own that they can no longer field in a tournament list.

I'll go first:

Zero / Null

I own only two flotillas of each faction.

Okay go!

1 of each.

I gotta dump a gonzo and a GR75. I think I might mod them or use them as objectives.

None for either side. However, I feel like flotillas will soon start appearing on ebay in droves. ;)

2 Gozantis, 1 GR-75.

And that's fine. Loving the nerf.

Three of each. Oops.

Only one extra Goz. Which I can use as a pretend GR75 for friendly games.

Great way to use GR75's now:

One extra Goz, two GR-75's.

Agree, good objective/obstacle fodder.

One GR-75. But it is still useable in the campaign and in casual games. Plus I now have three paint jobs to choose from.

What is more sad to me is that I had a fleet that all of the ship cards were alt-art with an alt-art Ackbar, and now I can't showcase that fleet in a tournament any more.

1 of each but I'm OK with it, love the FAQ. I may use the extras as prize fodder for new players in local/private tournaments.

None! I only ever got two of each!! Hahahahaha

Would it have been better if instead it had been: if you activate a flotilla, you must also activate another flotilla right after it if able. Only one of those flotillas may issue a squadron command.

A hard cap definitely avoids getting too many ships and taking too much time on the table though. I'm a little sad about my third transport. Frankly a little less sad about my 3rd gozanti, but I've never really liked gozantis play wise.

So, zero, I presume?

No. That would have been way worse.

Everyone knows I have 4 Gozanti. And I was not afraid to use them...

Only 2 GR-75 tho.

2 gr, 1 goz. I ran almost all 2 flot lists, though so no crying here. Actually i only got the 4th gr to try out a fish farm and quit playing that junk after 2 games. So 1 was already a write-off. Overall, happy with the changes.

Only two of both.

6 Gozanti and 2 GR-75. And yes, this are the numbers i have to much now :P

The joke is actually that the FAQ changes will make fish farm better. One of the reasons it stacked that many flotillas was because it needed to out activate fleets to win. Now you can run MC80+CR90A+2xGR75 or MC80+2xCR90A+2xGR75.

In fact, I would say fish farm is going to come out of this FAQ even better, since the two biggest damage spikes in the game, BTA and yavaris, both received nerfs. It's now possible to drop a defensive or go to a MC75 for more points.

I'll be retiring 1 Gozanti and 1/2 a GR-75 (one of the two models peg broke).

Fair points. Doesnt make the Farm more fun to play with or against though.

One of each.

On topic though, since I am supplying two players, I have exactly 1 extra GR75. This does mean that we can both play competitive fleets in the same faction again though!
