Actually all 8 people get one for playing. With an extra 4 to go out randomly. So you could get 2 of a thing you can't use in an actual game!!

Why can't you use it in a game? It is the Commander token for when you have to promote a Trooper leader...

Or you could use it to signify orders. you just couldn't put it into the order pile/bag until you have enough to do all your units lol

I don’t think it is, the “art” is identical to the command tokens, not the commander promo token.

Personally I think the best OP prizes are the least practical ones, and I like the alternate art cards the most when they’re silly, like the Lightsaber Pull AA from Destiny. I guess the grail Legion OP swag would be a ten sided die... I can dream!

You can always use it for a coin toss if you and your opponent have the same size list. Faction symbol for heads, commander symbol for tails.

I literally have the Recruitment kit in front of me. For operation #1, it describes the contents, among other things, as:

13 Elite Prize Item (Imperial Commander Token)

In the Rules Reference, p.20, it says: To promote a commander, a player chooses any of their trooper units on the battlefield and places a commander token next to that unit.

In the very next para, FFG uses the term commander-rank order token to refer what you place next to a commander to order him or her.
